Reactivating the Yongbyon reactor can only mean North Korea intends to produce nuclear bombs. And this leaves GW with only one choice: The reactor must be physically destroyed.
Blowing it up like the Israelis blew up Saddam Hussein's Osirak reactor in 1981 (with bombs dropped by F-16s) is obviously not the best way far too public, releasing a media firestorm. Far better to destroy it quietly, safely, stealthily and mysteriously.
With a spear. A steel rod 40 feet long and 4 inches in diameter, fin-stabilized, with a needle-sharp tungsten-carbide tip, equipped with a small JDAM guidance package including a GPS. It is non-explosive; there is no warhead.
You've heard of smart bombs. This is a smart spear.

Smart Spears. I love this idea. No explosion, not much fall-out, and not likely to become public. Problem solved, Kim Jong-il screwed, and word would get out through the Axis of Evil grapevine to cut the crap.

Why sneak around like criminals, hoping our acts won't be discovered. Give the b*stards 24 hour notice, and reduce the facility to rubble. If we don't act quickly, every tin-pot dictator on the planet will be seeking and gaining nukes. Bush is flat blowing this one.

Why sneak around like criminals, hoping our acts won't be discovered.Plausible deniability. Why give the whiners and appeasers anything more to whine about? Why not solve the problem quietly and leave the world wondering how it was done? Let the bad guys of the world lose sleep pondering it.

Men stand up and state: "I did that". Little boys convince themselves that no one knows it was they, who raided the cookie jar. I prefer a man for president.

I prefer my enemies nervous and afraid, and my presidents smart enough to know when to do things quietly, and humble enough not to take credit for everything.

Powell and Bush will talk the North Koreans to death on this one. Democrats are already saying "talking" is the only way.

And no pictures of destruction to post all over the world, decrying the bestial acts of the Americans and how they scattered radioactive waste all over the country.

O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible; and hence we can hold the enemy's fate in our hands. -- Sun Tzu

We have succeeded in removing all fear from the North Koreans; they are giving us the finger.

this I assume :)

Ideally we get the Chicoms to take it out for us. The result will be accepted everywhere outside the Axis of Evil and having the Chicoms do the deed sends them a huge signal that the serious world is united against them. Not that I know how to get the Chicoms to do this for us. At least we can't bribe them with military secrets; Clinton already gave away all of those trading cards.

Except the world won't see it as us doing what needs to be done, the world will see it as American imperialism dictating who can and can't have the tools necessary to defend themselves. Best to be sneaky and leave doubt, just like a quiet mob hit everybody will "know" but they won't be able to "prove" and that's the important part. Diplomacy isn't about being a man, diplomacy is abot only getting into wars when it's important and on your own terms.

Who cares what the world thinks! The world needs a leader and, whether they like it or not it's America. No need for diplomacy it just lowers us to the worlds level.I say America needs to do what is best for America and do it in a big.By our nature what is good for the U.S.is good for the rest of the world.

So you think that we are above the world! This stupid redneck thinking is in a direct contradiction to what Bush ran for president on; "American foreign policies should never be used arogantly. We should use our world power status with humility"
