Why The Left Hates America
Oregon Magazine ^ | January 1, 2003 | Peggy Whitcomb

Have you ever hated someone for getting in your way to achieve your life's goal? Really despised him? You've tried to get him to see things your way, to embrace your goal, to see the potential benefits (to you), but he stubbornly refuses and continues his own way. And his "way" is what blocks your progress.

So what can you do? Actually, if you are a moral relativist, your list of options is endless.

Moral relativism rejects the centuries-old notion of moral standards that determine right and wrong; it allows any amount of trickery you can think of, and hatred is fertile ground for dreaming up tricks...(snip)

The Left seeks to make America equally miserable, except for the 'clever' ones on top.

Reply to post #1: In the most general terms the reason the left hates America is because the left is evil and America is good. What goes on in the spiritual world also plays itself out in the material world. The American left does satans biding and the right works towards doing God's biding although many times they fall short of the mark. For example, the left murders babys and the right tries to save them. The left champions promiscuity the right champions chastity, the right champions dedication and hard work and the left champions laziness and sloth, and it goes on and on. The philosophy of governance of our founding fathers was basically a Godly one while the philosophy of the left is satanic.

Moral relativism is the door they get though. Then once inside the door is slammed shut. Then the new standards are set to turn the public in to subjects. No freedoms unless granted from the state, restriction of movement, restriction of privite ownership and rationing. Economic incentive will be replaced by power incentive.

Agreed. There does seem to be much self-hatred.

Ping!

Thanks for the ping on Flynns' book.

Would like to venture a commnet here:
Via the Historical record...often overlooked..mentioned mostly by the economic historical analyst..is the Financial power block that was in place..prior to the revolutionary war.
It can be narrowed down to Families...Families with wealth and power from England..and their partners from Europe..other Families..who thru in on the grand experiment.
Yes..families...wealth did not go public into market shares for all to sign on for.
England was defeated...they returned to their Island..with their tails between their legs...most would nod ya!..and good riddence to ya!
The economic historian see's a different reality...the Red Coats did leave...but not the social class invested wealth.
Here..is your silent killer..that has remained..and has power..power to show up..even today..they can be as Liberal as they come..and they will be heard..for they have power..and influence.
Marxist thinking has come to America..but long before that..a social class who looked down on the dregs..the dregs who thought so well of themselves..and sneered at thier version of what is noble and right.
A class of exploiters..with little patience for the independent has been around along time.
The nausiating social scene via the media and collectives of past times finds it support from this class that have gone about things quietly all allong.

They are here folks...best to just smash them a good one when they make a mistake of struting in public.
only the Democratic crowd that can be trusted would ever rub shoulders with them...some who have caused trouble,,have been run off...and not by Republicans.

I liked this comment: One of the reasons American movies are so loved around the world is not because of the quality of the story plots or the acting, but because of the miraculous freedom and prosperity ordinary Americans are clearly shown to enjoy. The lack of deference to our "betters", our lack of fear of our government -- these are astounding revelations to citizens of other lands, engendering in them a desire for the freedoms and lifestyles they observe.

Since our freedom is taken for granted, many of us don't appreciate how precious it is.

He quotes John Walker Lindh's email to his mother: "I don't really see what your big attachment to America is all about. What has America ever done for anybody?" and then answers John's question.

He says that America enriches not only itself but also all of humanity. One way we accomplish this is through our inventions -- electric light, air conditioning, the telephone, the internet, etc. -- and myriad medicines that have saved millions of lives.

The left doesn't appreciate what we have done for the world.

During the Great Depression, the Soviet government took to showing newsreels of Americans standing in line at soup kitchens. The authorities wanted to educate the masses on the failures of capitalism and how it had impoverished its victims.

They stopped after a short time when they came to realize that their citizens looking at the newsreels took the souplines for granted but could only comment on how even the impoverished Americans had good shoes and nice-looking clothing.

No

Perhaps that's why I don't understand the left.

Actually, the conflict is not uniquely American. The choice for man's government is between judges and kings. Between those who would live freely under a system of laws that secure the safety and liberty of all equally OR the despotic rule of a single man's vision of what is good governance. Those who prefer the law and judges want a world where men are free to live and prosper as good neighbors, only being controled by government in those areas of personal liberty that may harm others. Those who prefer a king are terrified by their own competitive disadvantages and failings, overcome with the desire to have what they have not earned and see currying favor with a strong tyrant as their best hope of sucess.

Oh no, the Demorats can never resort to introspection, when it's so easy to point fingers, cry, and suck off the Federal teat.

Some babies never grow up...

Their wealth was created on the backs of "ordinary" Americans on whom they bestowed pitying concern

That sounds awfully Marxist for a anti-Marxist article.

The left hates America for two reasons: first, that its precepts result in success and theirs do not, and second, because the individuals who have succeeded under those precepts have come to believe in them. Both success and belief are intolerable to those who have neither.

That sounds awfully Marxist for a anti-Marxist article.

The way I read that -- within the context -- is that these "intellectuals" considered that their wealth came to them by "rights", not by the hard work and investments of their families. It was the intellectuals perception that "ordinary" Americans were a lesser breed, naturally inclined to be the servants and providers. The intellectuals "pitying concern" expresses an elitism, not respect or genuine concern.

That's how I read it, anyway. Within the context.

Those who aspire to and emulate the socialist left (the moral relativists among us), are the men and women who were easily buffaloed through out school. Their parents never understood what a wonderful country they or their parents and grandparents had immigrated to. They brought the old ways of oppression with them, in short, they could never accept nor understand freedom & choice.

Today as those exalted, albeit arrogant, tenured professors who rein over the halls of ivy and your children’s minds with their love of all things socialist; boarding on idolatry, continue to preach and write about “equality”, never about success, that wouldn’t be fair...you know for one person, one school to have more than others.

In cities throughout America, schools that had an auditorium and one across town didn’t, the one that did had to tear down their lovely tax paid for auditorium. That is just one example. Another is the myriad of history books that have been re-written, to exclude fact and truth and replaced with political correct myths pertaining to those the author favored in his mind. The United States Constitution is described by some of those august teachers, as a washed up old worn out piece of paper. You will get an A+ if you agree with the teacher.

A more brilliant document was never written for a nation and it was meant to be forever not just an experiment as is the want of so many of the college and political elite of the Politics of Political Correctness. p>The PPC should become history and truth should regain its rightful place in the books our young people are taught from. Moral relativism is what a recent and impeached president and his wife stand for along with some thing called The Third Way, another experiment on the people of a free society and like all the experiments before that it will fail because Americans are a moral and freedom loving and G-d fearing people. Actually, Americans are the heavyweights of the free world, a giving and loving, huggable group of people that are too kind to the PPC and their ilk. Good manners sort of hamper us, but as is being seen, the PPC left is slipping all over the barn yard in their messes. Happy New Year!
