All freepers living in areas where their cable providers refuse to provide Fox News should contact Dish for free installation of the satellite receiver and two control boxes. Then you can get Fox News like the rest of us.Just be sure to get the 100 channel package because the 50 channel package does not include Fox News. You can get single channels a la carte now that I think about it.

You can get single channels a la carte now that I think about it. Really? We're paying for all that other junk for nothing??? (Ever checked out FSTV? Last show I noticed was "Gay in Cuba." LOL!!!)
We got the smaller package, but because it didn't get Fox, we bought the big one - just for Fox.

I went for the 150 channel package which carries Fox news.
You are right that the basic package doesn't carry FoxNews. You have to subscribe to the 100 or the 150. The 150 option had a lot of other channels that we like.
The picture on our 12 year old set is great, and we lose the satellite a few minutes during really bad storms. With cable bad storms could mean hours if not days. Then when a drunk, illegal alien or a drunk illegal aliend took out a utility pole, we might be without cable for a day or days.

I love Fox News for the balanced coverage, Im finally getting the news pronounced instead of preached. Now if only we can get the Washington Times out to a more national audience. But I gotta say that the morning show is more than I can take, sometimes it is painful to watch.
Im seriously waiting for the day those guys put on clown suits and break out the bicycle horns. When is fox news going to fix that situation, it's embarassing and costs them their ratings because I always end up on cnn in the mornings and I dont like that either.

I heard on the radio this morning on my way to work that ATT is increasing their cable service charge between $4 and $7 per month (I'm already paying $54/month for their "standard" cable - 3 HBOs and Starz). I pay ATT $49.95/month for my internet service and I assume that will be going up too. Since I know very little about the "dish", can you explain the difference and the approximate cost? Thanks!

DirecTV's basic package for $31.95 includes Fox News.

I have DirecTV and can get FOX in the basic package which is only $31.95 monthly. Plus, DirecTV is the only one who has the NFL package each fall, thus allowing me to watch any game I choose.
