"Actually, I think they should outlaw ALL paintball equipment and public activities "On what grounds?
There is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with kids playing paintball. The very first lesson they will pick up, is that combat is not a video game. Getting shot hurts and making moves like you see on TV requires some physical exertion.
This is a sport people participate in voluntarily and it causes no more harm than soccer, football or basketball. If anything, it probably gives kids a very slight taste of what real combat might be like and if you think this is a bad lesson for kids to have, maybe you should strap on some goggles and suit up. You might be surprised what this lesson feels like.
The least you can do is stay the heck out of the way and don't add to the situation by demanding that perfectly lawful activities be made unlawful. We've got enough of that kind of help already.
Cheers,
Lloyd

"What do these kids think that they are doing? Shouldn't they be in gangs like other city kids? "Good point Doug. Maybe if some of the anti-paintball crowd would give this a little thought, they might see that kids need an outlet and some kids have rather aggressive natures.
There are few other outlets quite like paintball.

NOT ACCORDING TO THE THIRD REICH POLICE. Can't play paintball = Holocaust. Why do you defend the indefensible so often? The cops are wrong, and are acting like goons. They have no right to make these people leave private property at all.
To: PatrioticAmerican
Any cop telling a person to leave property while engaged in lawful conduct with the owners permission should be told to get bent. Any use of cops force should be met with 100 times in kind! Aye. But on your terms, not theirs. Get names and remember faces.

"I'd be more concerned of teaching kids to have no respect for laws or the government "Then in cases such as this one, we should work on teaching the cops how to behave in a manner deserving of respect.
Teaching kids to respect authority NO MATTER HOW THAT AUTHORITY IS EXCERCISED is simply raising the next generation of fascists. Blind obedience is not respect for the law.
Cops that abuse their power should be removed from power. period

I'd be more concerned of teaching kids to have no respect for laws or the government -- to be above the law and answer to no one. Just like the Islamists...I'm more concerned about police who have no repect for the laws or our govt.--acting above the law, and answering to no one. Just like this cop. Hell of an example he set.

More outrage ping...

Provided it's private land, and the paint balls don't leave the private land then frankly, I think the police have no business there.
Just leave them alone to play paint ball for goodness sakes. My gosh, is there such a lack of crime in Miami that the cops don't have better things to do than harass kids playing in a field?

Get a life will ya. At least Sledge is giving these kids something to do besides become Gang Bangers. We need more things to do for the kids in our communities and people like Sledge are doing something to keep kids off the streets. And the Parents must like what is going on they support it.

Are you serious?
Paintball is a great sport. I'm very fit, and a reasonable shot, but I had NO IDEA what a rush it would be to play paintball. Beats FPS games all to hell.
Paintball is one of those things that keeps this country great, and it keeps the JBTs from being too smug about being able to handle any situation - a very good thing!

Its everyone business and respnsibility in these United States to encourage people to exercise use of common sense you moron.
Very incitive question sir. Since your butt is being flamed left and right perhaps you could elaborate more fully on what exactly you meant by exercising common sense. Whose common sense are you refering to, yours and your government's definition of common sense as exhibited at Ruby Ridge? Perhaps we should appoint you as "Intergalactic Supreme Judge Of What Humans Should or Shouldn't Do For Fear of Pissing Off The Rulers....!
Or how about the Supreme Head of Incitefull Tendencies?

This flagrant abuse of police power is frightening. If no laws were being broken they are way out of line and it should be persued. Does Coconut Creek have a SWAT team?
Or was it the Broward Sherriff's dept. headed by Ken Jenne, Broward's little Napoleon. I'd raise all kinds of hell.

Sorry but the BEST response will be to publish the names and pictures of the cops involved so that their careers take a low trajectory. The next cop that thinks about doing the same will, appropriately, think twice. The Internet remembers forever.

I have no doubt the cop got bent way out of shape when he saw how the kids were learning tactics and survival skills they would need against an armed enemy. I further bet he pooped his pants when he saw how accurate the paintballers were. Then he wet his pants when he got intimidated by the sophistication and appearance of the paintball guns. Cowards and tyrants should wear diapers and rubber pants.

"Actually, I think they should outlaw ALL paintball equipment and public activities -- what the hell are you trying to teach your kids!!!"
I see you've been studying.
Maybe the kids need to get one of these?

"I'd be more concerned of teaching kids to have no respect for laws or the government -- to be above the law and answer to no one. "Think about the example the cops displayed here, speaking of "above the law"!
What law did these kids violate and which you are so concerned about them not obeying? Is it because a two bit wannabe jerk off with a badge told them they couldn't play paintball? Excuse me, be who the f%&$k does that smartass with a uniform think he is?
And who are you to stand behind him?
