Linda Isabel Gonzalez, a Fort Bragg soldier, faces several charges after she reported a theft of marijuana from her apartment.

Bennie Dunlap allegedly broke into Gonzalez's apartment and stole 1 pound of marijuana.
RALEIGH, N.C. -- A Fort Bragg soldier and a teenager face several charges after an alleged attempted robbery.
Police say Bennie Dunlap, 16, of Raleigh, N.C., entered the apartment of Linda Isabel Gonzalez, a Fort Bragg soldier, around midnight Thursday and allegedly stole 1 pound of marijuana.
Police say Gonzalez, along with her roommate and a friend, followed Dunlap's vehicle and called 911 while following the vehicle.
The Fayetteville Police Department located the vehicle and apprehended Dunlap, along with the driver of the vehicle. Authorities said Gonzalez did not immediately report to sheriff's detectives that the robber had taken the marijuana.
Gonzalez later admitted to authorities that the marijuana was stolen and did not want to pursue charges regarding the robbery.
Gonzalez has been charged with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver and one count of maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling controlled substances.
Dunlap has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver. He is being held on $85,000 bond.
The driver of the vehicle has not been charged, but authorities say they are still conducting their investigation.

God, the Army must have some really low standards these days.

This represents one of those instances in which the English language seems so, well, inadequate.
Is there a word to adequately convey how stupid this poor woman must be?

If we have soldiers of this quality in the Middle East, we are in Big, Big trouble.

Is there a word to adequately convey how stupid this poor woman must be?When I was in Japan, there was a guy named Ziemer who sold his ID card, a classified manual, and ten M-16s...to an NIS agent.
"To Ziemer" is the verb form, as in "He Ziemer'd." "Pulling a Ziemer" is the noun form.

Once again, the most descriptive word that comes to mind is Homer Simpson's "DOH."

Read the other thread here about the draft. FR people say volunteers are much better caliber soldiers than draftees.

While I was in Boat School, I had to sit on an honor board for a mid who got caught using a fake ID . . . in Annapolis . . . approximately 2-250 yards from Gate 1. The mid's fake ID? Hers taped on top of someone else's so that the "front" of the card showed her picture and the "back" of the card showed someone else's birthday (who was legal). Even though it was a de facto honor offense, I really voted to boot the mid out because of sheer stupidity.

And she's one of the brave soles who protects our country.
The US Army must have made major changes recently in their entrance exam for this person to even get accepted, let alone her making it through boot camp. We should be worried!

The funniest part was that I came back to that base four years later, and the young pups who were in junior high when Ziemer pulled his stunt were saying "Yeah, he Ziemered bigtime."
It just became part of the MCAS Iwakuni lexicon. Wonder if they're still saying it...
