Because he didn't die like a man, but like a sheep, sent to the slaughter by his government, which found him unworthy of either protecting himself or deserving of effective protection.

It was Niccolai Machiavelli who observed that Among the other ills that will befall you as a condition of being disarmed, it will cause you to be despised.

Macchiavelli's The Prince was written circa 1505 and published about a decade later, so it shouldn't really come as any great surprise to you or anyone else, even now.

Hmmmm....I'm going to go out on a limb and say: because this is a POLITICAL forum. Notice that this was posted in the News/Activism section, not the Chat/General Interest section. So, get off of your high-horse and get with the program.

BTW, where is YOUR expression of sympathy?
