As a sidenote, our comments table is very nearly 4 gigabytes (4,294,967,296 bytes) large. MySQL requires a magical invocation to exceed this sacred number. This is one other task we will perform tonight, dead chicken in hand.

MySQL requires a magical invocation to exceed this sacred number. I have a copy of oracle 8i enterprise you can have, still in the box :)

You're not gonna change anything, are you? You'll still be open tomorrow, won't you? All my friends will still be there, right?
OK, lorrainer. Get a grip. Deep breaths. Look at the cached articles. A Republican is in the White House and we hold the majority in both houses. There, see? It'll be OK...

Time to think about data partitioning. Perhaps by aging off really old comments into a seperate table, or maybe by partitioning by forum (i.e. a seperate comments table for each forum). This makes your code messier, but is a common technique used to scale databases that get too large.

PERHAPS it's not a suitable time or you prefer not to for other reasons . . .
But it would really be helpful if I could html tag code the FREEPCARDS in Word font sizes 8-12.
I enjoyed the larger font sizes--3-7 and miss being able to do those, too. But even if you wish to still prevent me from doing those, I'd still like to be able to do the small font sizes for the cards.
Thanks for all your hard work in our behalf,
Blessings,
