You want them to prove that Islam is peaceful by using the most non-peaceful extreme measure that can be taken by a Muslim, a jihad.

That's not an example of circular logic; it's an example of unintegrated values. It's neither, though; it's checkmate. A peaceful religion having such an "non-peaceful extreme measure" to convert or destroy infidels?

Really, Luis, that measure is there, in their holy book. But they don't have to use it violently, unless you consider self-policing, inward investigation and identification of subversive elements, and release of the names from that investigation "violent". No one is asking them the kill the subversives, just turn them in.

Better yet, how can you openly display your complete ignorance on a subject that you are so convinced you know everything about?

Why must you be so insulting and nasty, Luis? Your quote says there are 4,000 Muslims in the military. It says nothing about what they will do when they are assigned to kill other Muslims. Read their holy book about Muslims attacking other Muslims and the consequences thereof.

The rubber has not hit the road yet. When it does, we'll see if it leaves skidmarks.

Then you would have completely missed the shoe bomber, and Padilla. There's also the fact that India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh actually have the largest Muslim populations.

Why, thank you. I'll keep my eye on them, too. Will you also?

But you have no such expectation for Christians?

Why should I? Christians have fought all the other wars, even some of those that vow non-violence.

Let me remind you of a statement of mine you chose not to address.

"I consider it to be more dangerious (sic) to assume they do, then discover they don't than to assume they don't and let them prove they do. "

Do you want to assume Islam, or the majority thereof, is peaceful and find out the hard way it's not? I'm sure Neville Chamberlain had a big heart and loving acceptance of all men as his brothers. I do too, except that, unlike you and Neville, I know there exists men that don't think they're my loving brothers.

The scriptures say we must be as peaceful as the dove, but wise as the surpent. You have the first part, now work on the second.

"A peaceful religion having such an "non-peaceful extreme measure" to convert or destroy infidels?"

How many times have you read the Qur'an? You haven't? That means that you are drawing your conclusions from parsed bits of the book, and are in fact facilitating the spread of the extremist interpretation of the book.

The Bible instructs Christians to put down the sword, and that we shall not kill...yet Christians in the military do. These Muslims are members of our Armed Forces, they are sworn to follow orders, and defend the country. Furthermore, how do you know that ANYONE will actually pull a trigger during a firefight?

"Read their holy book about Muslims attacking other Muslims and the consequences thereof."

One of the bloodiest struggles going on in Africa right now is in Algeria (a largely Muslim country), where the military has fought a war precisely to prevent the Sha'riah from being implemented. How can this be if the Qur'an tells them to do so? The targets of Islamic violence in Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Algeria, and other nations are their fellow Muslim, many of whom are fighting back even as we speak.

The most important part of a battle, is to identify the enemy. That's what I'm setting out to do.

I am not saying that the enemy isn't Islamic, I am saying that all Muslims are not the enemy.

The enemy is Saudi Arabia, and Wahabbism.

It's simple minded as well as evil to damn the innocent along with the guilty.
