Now saying that all vials have "been accounted for. There is no public health danger."

There is a little paranoia going on with this thread. The funny thing is that in the survey I've taken locally, we are more amused at all the attention than worried about a sudden human outbreak.

Betting money says that these will turn up to be medical sample vials that will have absolutely no use as "weapons grade" material that were misplaced or have been gone for a long time.

I guess, but I kinda wonder about the tight lipped faces at that press conference. And what does "all accounted for" mean?

Investigation will be continued. Wonder who is under investigation

I heard him say that, too. With all the people he mentioned who were involved, they probably weren't looking through records.

He mentioned that this began at 6PM last night. I wonder if they got search warrants for all the lab emplyees' homes? Maybe they have identified the person who took/misplaced them and they are investigating that person for any terrorist connections.

"City officials were not sure if the vials were stolen or merely misplaced".

How can 35 vials turn up missing? That's like saying Winona Ryder accidentally walked out of a store with 13 halter tops, 10 pairs of jeans, 7 skirts and 5 bras. C'mon!

ALL vials accounted for ! ~ hahahahaha

I called it post #83. It helps to have some knowledge of the TTU health science center.

I had hope that you would take my allusion with a grain of salt. I also live within a huge prairie dog town and take regular "walks" through it. They are suffering more from the ongoing drought up here than any naturaly occuring pestilance. Stay warm ;^)

The TTU Chancellor always looks that way. Knowing Smith, he's probably torqued that he's having to share the podium.

How can 35 vials turn up missing?

It depends on how good their record-keeping was. I have no idea how labs account for their specimens, but I assume they are supposed to keep records of what specimens they have, who uses them, etc.

If you are dealing with vials, then you probably have to sign for how much you take out of it. If you have a 10cc vial and take out 1cc, you probably have to record that. If people get sloppy about signing out for things, then you could easily end up with 35 vials "missing" over time--especially if it's been a long time since the records were audited.

Again, I have no idea how they actually do this. I'm just theorizing.

Fox News has submarined the allegation.

Apparently it's a pre-cursor, and it was found.
