Maybe the Seahawks could trade Holmgren for Mariucci!

Ain't many horses left after the firing, pink slips and trades.
We have Mike Rump as an example a really great draft choice by the wizard behind the curtain.

Here's that SF Examiner column from last Monday, that I bet John York read:
Goodbye, nice guy

ABC 7 in San Fran just mentioned Da Mooch may end up with Jacksonville Jaguars.
Yep, that's the buzz in Jacksonville too! PLEEZE PLEEZE PLEEZE let Mariucci coach my beloved Jags!

(where is Scotty Moore when we need him most?)

Even my wife, who is no real football fan said that walking off the field with time left on the clock was ridiculous.

If Mooch gets the Bears job, he'll be closer to home (he's a Yooper, you know).

I hope S.F. signs Denny Green. It'll make continuing to despise them that much easier.I was trying to think of an eloquent way to say this very thing.

Seiffert coasted on the team Walsh built. He sure as hell didn't start with a 2-14 season. He lost a lot of big playoff games.

Gary Kubiak is a coach in waiting.
To: Catspaw
Mooch is a really nice guy. Too nice to be a coach in the NFL. I hope that Cal or some college with a good football program hires him. He will be a great college coach.

The only reason I could see for him to do something like that is if Terrell Owens or a combination of players were trying to take coaching the team into THEIR hands and Mooch was trying to rush them to the locker room for a good old fashioned "I'M the damn coach of this team and when I send in a route for you to run, YOU'LL RUN IT!!!" ass chewing.

George was a good coach. Walsh was a great coach. Walsh did a great job of finding players and developing them into great players, Montana, Young, Garcia.
However, as long as he is around and behind that curtain as Rasputian, the 9ers will not have a good coach.

I'm sure Vikings fans still thank Dennis Green for the fiasco in the NFC championship against the Falcons.

The Whiners have a history of dismissing people as if they were cheap motel bed sheets.
Isn't that the truth!

Siefert retired from coaching the Niners.

The owner is an idiot. They made it to the playoffs and won in the first round. You can't really expect anything more out of a coach.
To: Grampa Dave
I remember when Mooch was an asst. coach for Green Bay. I think he was one of the first of Mike's boys ("Mike" as in Holmgren") to get a head coaching job. He really is a nice guy, never lost his Iron Mountain, Michigan, roots, and when the Pack would play the 49ers, we'd understand his family's divided loyalties.
--and heck, his team was in the playoffs & he still got canned.

On that I agree. If he wants to do the whole job as he used to, great, but this half-retirement BS isn't working.
It's a tribute to anybody that could make a QB out of Garshea.

Not gonna happen.
Ditka will be back to coach my Bears before that happens.
