I think it would be incumbent on all of us to notify our Catholic State and Federal politicians regarding this new edict from the Pope, AND HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!! And remember you don't have to be Catholic to tell your Catholic Legislators and Executives that they have to uphold Catholics beliefs, the Pope Just did, you are the conduit by which they will find out.
Especially those of us who live in NJ!! Where our Governor, Senate President (I think) and Speaker of the Assembly, as well as Congressmen Menendez, Pallone and Pascrell who are Catholic and support Abortion and Gay Marriages.
If you are Catholic, you may want to alert your diocesan newspapers too, just in case they want to leave that article out, let them know that you know.
(The Vatican told Catholic politicians on Thursday they must oppose laws on abortion, euthanasia and gay marriages and can not accept compromises on Church teachings when formulating policy or legislation.) This isn't too earth shattering for a person of any religion.
