Anyone who questions why gun owners resist imposition of new laws and greater restrictions on firearms ownership need only look at the case of Erich Olaf Tate, a Georgia man who will spend the next two years in a federal prison for gunrunning.

"When was the last time you heard a cocaine user call for tougher prosecution of drug traffickers?"

Excellent point.
But I still had to check the link....

BTW, just caught the tail end of Drew Carey. Long story short, the cops blew away a cardboard cutout of a ball player they stole. Oswald remarked, "You're not so good at keeping the hostage alive." LOL!

From the SFCron, huh? That's odd ... an article that I agree with. And it happened exactly as described in the story ... when news that someone had exploited Georgia's gun laws to sell guns in NY, Chuckie, the VPC, and all the other gun-grabbing mutants got on the 'pass more laws, penalize the law-abiding, villify the 'southern gun culture'' bandwagon ...

There was an article a couple of months ago in the AJC about the growing problem of guns being purchased at local pawn shops being smuggled to New York. Some of the perps were well healed white college kids.

They would purchase quantities of cheap .380's in the $80.00 price range from local pawn shops and sell them on the streets of NYC for $300-$500 a pop. One kid bragged he made $225,000 one summer doing this.

These law breakers acts will make life a lot harder for us law abiding Georgia firearms owners by giving the gun grabbers in the legislature more ammo to work with.

They pass "one gun a month" laws (like here in the People's Republic of California). The "rationale" is that it will prevent 'straw purchasers'--people with previously "clean" records who buy lots of guns at once for resale on the streets.

Hmm. I walk into a gun store an order 20 guns. The state attorney general receives a request for a background check. Does he not become suspicious about why I am ordering 20 guns?

Next month, I order 20 more. Do not flags go up at this point?

My point is that "one gun a month" rules are ridiculous since they presuppose that the AG is not doing his job. A reasonable person would wonder why my second order (let alone the first) caused no concern. Evidently the state AG is guilty of multiple counts of misfeasance, nonfeasance, and malfeasance in performing his duties. So they slap a band-aid on it termed 'one gun a month.'

I like to fantasize about starting a "Gun of the Month" club, but I fear few are wealthy enough to join. I certainly couldn't!

Every time some "Idiot" does something stupid with a gun
the anti gun zealots get 2ce as much coverage out of it
to promote their agenda of grabbing all guns.
Drug dealers almost always walk away with a slap on
the wrist. Seems kinda strange doesn't it?
Someone's getting paid off somewhere along the line.

Alan Gotlieb and Dave Workman are NOT gun grabbers. They are 2nd ammendment warriors of the first class. Dave Workman has been on the Board of the NRA and the Washington Arms Collectors. They are from the Seattle area.

Gun running would not be happening, there would be no money in it if there was not gun control in the receiving city. Those $80 guns would still be $80 in NYC if not for the Sullivan law.

Just like a weed like Marijuana that becomes more valuable than gold when you make it illegal.

In both cases, the problem is a government that ignores the constitution.

You've got that right. That's why I'm still sitting here with my jaw on the floor that this scum-sucker got off so light.

Nearly a quarter-million in trafficked guns? Hope the spoiled rich white kid chokes on the money. I wonder how many innocent victims will die.
