Muslim Groups in Terror Probe Gave Thousands to GOP Races
By Lisa Rein
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, January 22, 2003; Page B01
Two Republican state lawmakers from Northern Virginia received thousands of dollars in the summer and fall from the leaders of several Muslim groups whose Herndon headquarters were raided in March by federal agents investigating possible terrorist financing.
The network of individuals, foundations and businesses gave $8,000 to the reelection campaign of Del. Richard H. Black (Loudoun), campaign finance reports filed last week show. Ken Cuccinelli (Fairfax) took $5,400 in campaign cash from some of the same sources in July, a week before he won a special election to the Virginia Senate.

OK. So, what? Is anyone accusing the GOP of being too "pro-Arab"?--or "pro-terrorist"? Apparently the GOP cannot be bought.

If I were a terrorist I'd donate to the Republicans.
The Democrats would already be in my pocket - it would make sense to try and bribe my enemies.

Any Virginia Freepers know these candidates? The article says no explicit link has been found to terrorist groups but the imlication is there.Everything is not about terrorism. Arabs in the US tend to support Republicans because most Jews support dims.

My question is this: Did the donations buy the muslims anything ...?? It doesn't look like it!! This is the same issue as Enron - their donations to Bush did not net them any concessions from the govt either.
If these people had donated to the dems, they would have been given a pass. The media knows this - even if they won't admit it.

Any Virginia Freepers know these candidates? The article says no explicit link has been found to terrorist groups but the imlication is there. The WP implying the motives of two of the most conservative men in Richmond are suspect? How unusual. It's an attempted smear campaign, you can bet on it.

Sounds like a "win-win" situation:
1. the coffers of the terrorists get drained
2. the guys who'll vote to drop the hammer on terrorists get elected.
Do you really think the Washington Post would be reporting this...unless they wanted
to make it sound bad?
