[history]
The Bush administration will present new evidence directly linking Saddam Hussein with the al Qaeda terrorist group to bolster the White House position that the United Nations should get "one last chance" to enforce its resolutions on Iraq, a senior official said yesterday.

>>>
Inspectors have been in Iraq for eight weeks and have found just 16 of the 30,000 chemical warheads and chemical munitions in its possession at the end of the 1990s, as reported by the United Nations. <<< So by their own figures, Blix's UN inspectors have been 0.0533% effective in this one area. My hunch is that this is their best showing - such as it is.

Republican National Committee Chairman Marc Racicot dismissed the complaints as "blinded by political ambition and shallow opportunism" and suggested Mr. Daschle and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wait for the speech before criticizing it. See, this just proves that the Washington Times is part of some vast right-wing media conspiracy. When Tom Daschle and Nancy Pelosi make a statement, it's not supposed to be followed right up by a corresponding statement from a Republican. CNN would never do that. CBS doesn't do that. Real, objective, news organizations print only what Democrats say.
Here's the Reuters version. You don't see any stupid comments from Republicans in their coverage. The CNN story is just as objective. No mean-spirited Republicans in their coverage, either. CBS? Only 100% true Democrat news for them, too. That Washington Times, it's all a plot. Telling both sides is unfair to Democrats! |

I think the sooner the better. Let's roll. Anyone with a brain has known that the terrorists are welcomed with open arms in Iraq. Give the sheeple a little bit of proof and commence the bombing.

...Mr. Powell will deliver fresh, "convincing" evidence of a connection between Saddam and the terrorist group after Friday's Camp David meeting....Great! Just as long as they're not transcripts from Gitmo interrogations.
Because that wouldn't cut any ice at all.

Re: the Sean Hannity interview that stopped short, this is why Tierney is sooo credible : "We know, too, that several of the detainees, particularly some of the high-level detainees, have said that Iraq provided some training to al Qaeda in chemical weapons development." Tierney has assisted in the 'debriefings', you can bet on that one.

You know.... it seems pretty stupid for the Democrats to make their case before the speech. It just gives Bush the opportunity to make them look all the more foolish.

Bush opening remarks tonight....
"Good evening Mr. Chairman, Senators, Represenatives, Justices, Distinguished guests, and ladies and gentlemen across this great nation. I am pleased to announce that the bombing of Iraq is beginning while we speak. Right now hundreds of planes are dropping laser guided missles on the city of Bagdad. But that's not what I came to talk to you about. I am here tonight to propose and discuss in detail an economic stimulus package that will benefit all Americans, young and old, and a health care program that will protect our seniors and the unemployeed."

Excellent analysis, as usual.
The blatant bias in the media is
often achieved through crimes of omission
rather than commission.
