NBC's War Stories: Did it bother anyone else but me?

I taped this TV show Wednesday night and did not view it until late this evening. It is about the print & cable news war correspondents of today. And in many ways it hit home big-time!

NBC Tag: Wednesday, January 29th 8/7pm War Stories Civil war has broken out in Uzbekistan and journalists from around the world have gathered to cover this latest global hot spot. Jeff Goldblum stars as a veteran newspaper reporter forced to guide his new photographer through the madness.

The lead print guy, Goldblum, is the typical liberal journalist who sees the US as the bad guy. His new photographer is a news babe who's sister was killed in Tower 2 on 9/11. He give her fits for not following his oxymoron version of objectivity.

Others in the news camp jump from bed to bed while drinking between covering the daily grind.

They cover a refuge camp that gets plastered by US smart bombs-- Cover on the tube by a CNN clone saying, "Once again US smart bombs are not so smart."

To make a long story short, the plot is the CIA setting up the lead & photo babe to get to the Raghead who claims he planned the 9/11 attack.

The plan works and bag guy becomes bad mush, but the focus of the whole story is the shame of the pure journalist being used by those nasty old CIA guys.

Gad, can you imagine what would have happened had this been a movie set just before WW2 eighteen months after Pearl Harbor where the US are the bad guys?

For years it seems Hollywood has always made the bad guys our government or the CIA. Now, even after 9/11, the beat goes on.

As a smoker, I have come to feel like a Jew in Nazi Germany. Now I feel that same way just because I believe in my country and my President.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I was going to watch it but after reading the pro-iraq stance of those involved, skipped it.

I was watching that movie and, as soon as I saw where it was going, I turned to another program. I became so angry I couldn't focus on the show I turned to, so I turned the set off.

That's a common reaction to watching just about anything on ABCNNBCBS. Watch two hours of Fox News Channel at any time when Greta is not on, and call me in the morning if the symptoms don't clear up. Avoid repeating those actions that brought on the symptoms.

You are not alone. I don't smoke, but don't mind smokers. We actually have ash trays in our house for smoking friends. I'm a gun owner, and a conservative in a liberal community. I believe in our country and our president. I think we should all bear in mind that in places other than the left coast, the people's republic of ann arbor, etc. that we are the majority.

TYPICAL LIBERAL CRAP - Hollywood is so predictable it's really boring. US evil, corporations evil, etc... and the beat goes on.

Written by a sophomore.

Appallingly juvenile and ham-handed in its political messages.

It might as well have had a 'closed captioning' crawling text across the bottom of the screen saying "This a CIA agent... He is a Bad Guy".

They portrayed the terrorists as 'bad guys' and the U.S. military and CIA as 'bad guys'. The journalists were 'good guys'. They spelled it out real good.

I did like the ending where the reporters dared the CIA agent to kill them. They were in a Tashkent, Uzbekistan alley. Not the best place to do that. What I liked is that scene might inspire some lib to try it for real. They would lose.

Many thanks to you FReepers for your comments. I posted this late-- early this morning and though it would get lost in the shuffle.
