Where are all the celebs who have been out before the cameras for the last month blasting our President and his effort to protect us from potential catastrophic attack by a madman. I have not heard a single Hollywood or TV person commenting on the terrible event which happened today...no condolences, no regrets, nothing. The silence from the extreme left is deafening. Is it perhaps that this doesn't fit into thier agenda? Or are they so far removed from reality that they just don't care. Of course, I'm so tired of hearing thier anti-war banter that I find relief that, for a change, for the moment, they are keeping thier big mouths shut. But I just can't help thinking how this displays thier true colors and amplifies the real Socialist reterick they spew.

Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I did think that the fact the debris landed over half of Texas, and parts of OK, LA etc. added to the coverage. If this had happened someplace on the other side of the globe the coverage would be different. I agree, there is a mystique with the space program. Have to say I have it myself. Saw the first shuttle on its way home when it piggy backed and landed at Tinker Air Force Base in OK. The plane flew right over our house and it was sooooo cool! All the deaths are tragedies. Guess I just feel those who are dying for my freedom deserve more then they ever get.

we were not attacked on our own soil either Other than the first WTC bombing, and (endlessly arguably), the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.

They're over on DU, of course. Are they ever!!!!! I have been in and out of there all day. They are eating their own!!! Some of the most decent ones are trying to stop the avalanche of filthly spewing but I don't think they are being sucessful. I pity the poor saps, they are full of hatred.

It's ironic that you brought this up.....this a.m. I was helping my hubby pack for parts unknown....we were both trying to watch and pack at the same time...he's been activated and being mobilized....left this afternoon....it's been a real sad day here.

One of the NASA spokesmen this morning made it clear just what he thought of those who would condemn this great country of ours.......he said it all.I missed what he said. I was getting a hair cut and in fact first heard about the missing shuttle on an all news radio station on the way into town. They had FNC on in the barbershop but I could barely hear it above the conversation. What did the NASA spokesman say?

Where is the Hollywood elite now? Six Americans and one Israeli died today.
Hollyweird hates America and generally dislikes Israel, since Israel is a close ally of America.
So -- they just don't give a fat rat's a$s....At least not until they figure out a way to BLAME George W. Bush for the disaster - then, you won't be able to shut them up!!

Quite frankly, who gives a flying (bleep) where the 'Hollywood Elite' is?
Can anybody deny that they are nothing but (bleeping) irrelevant pieces of (bleepin' bleep)??
To: roob
You know, after I pushed the button I remembered another:
The death rate on the shuttle is even higher than for SUVs.
To: GreyWolf
That because no dimwitted organization has been created to combat shuttle accidents !
Actually these hollywood dimwits are so shallow their prolly thinking that the deaths were deserved because we shouldnt be disturbing the enviroment of SPACE!
Then again i could be wrong but that dont make them any less ignorant.

Today, more than most, it must suck to be Sean Penn. Why? Can you or anyone else please explain to me what Iraq had to do with the shuttle coming apart today?

Sometimes the word "hero" has lost its impact due to its being used to describe so many different things. Let me give you the TRUE meaning of that word ...
HERO: Mystery-ak's husband and others like him.
God bless and protect them all.
Amen.

Maybe they have the good common sense...You gotta be kidding, right?
To: TightSqueeze
I'm wondering what they are going to say about Iraq now. The Iraqis are reported to be cheering over today's sad loss of lives!

"Sometimes the word 'hero' has lost its impact due to its being used to describe so many different things."So you've noticed this phenomenon as well, eh?
I seem to recall Peggy Noonan's essay commending ALL the victims of 9/11 as "heroes" merely their sheer unfortunate presence in the Twin Towers that fateful day.
With all due respect to Peggy Noonan and others, the gratuitious connotation of word "hero" should not simply be applied to those who die prematurely by accident -- however tragic.
Yes, let's reserve and redefine "hero" as those who courageously sacrifice, and lay it on the line for others regardless of their own personal safety.
