SAVAGE TALK: A former herbalist has remade himself into the vitriol-spewing king...

Michael Savage is egotistical, opinionated and profane. He yells at callers to his radio show, "The Savage Nation," and hangs up on them -- even some who agree with him.

He's the son of an immigrant who bashes immigrants, a former academic who rips academia, a well-heeled professional who strikes a chord with the common people.

Well he does have a point. There are people in this country and in our government right now that have more (unfounded) hatred for Pres. Bush than they do the 9/11 hi-jackers, UBL and Saddam combined. That is something that should frighten everyone.

Phil Boyce, if you're reading this let it be known that I and countless other listeners to the Mike Savage Show want three full hours of his show and not be pre-empted by that boring hockey game.

God bless Mike Savage. God bless Bob Grant.

The same leftists who villainize Ashcroft, Bush, and the rest of the cabinet supported Bubba and Reno when tanks were sent into a confrontation in America over firearms sales and pointed a rifle in the closet at a man holding his nephew in his arms in a custody dispute to send a child to a dictatorship (where the father has now been rewarded with an "elected" but unopposed government position).

I don't let the left's outrage at anything scare me. The Rats in office stood in opposition to seeing the economy imrove because it would worsen their (re)election chances. The left stands as obstructionists; not because they fear that America would fall down a slippery slope to destruction but because it wouldn't be politically smart to let "the other side win". The same behavior is why they ignored Bubba's various transgressions; if Clinton had been hounded out of office then his critics "would have won".

You are wise beyond your years. The RATS rhetoric shouldn't scare anyone. It's founded on a bankrupt ideology (Communism/Socialism), that has no morals, no belief in religon (unless you count political power as a religon)and is tolerant of views and beliefs as long as those said comments and beliefs fit what the RATS think is the proper way for you to think. It also goes back to the answer as to why there are no successful national RAT talk show hosts. The callers are smarter than most of us in radio give them credit for. As soon as they heard some DUmmie behind the mic start spouting DNC talking points. The first three callers would shot down what he's saying and it would go downhill from there. That's why you still have people like Molly Ivans, Helen Thomas, and most of the apologists for B J Clinton either writing columns or on TV. They can spew their lies and NEVER have to be held accountable for them in the court of public opinion.

Ward and Gerrold nadler aren't related are they? I always thought Nadler (D-NY) was THE dead wringer for Jabba.

Also note that of the other personalities that I've heard on 950AM (besides Rush Limbaugh) he is the only one who seems to hold to his convictions. I don't oppose Mike Savage, he just isn't something I care to listen to much (I can listen to his show though).

The host that is on before him is the guy who has the fake guests (who's voices he provides). The whole point of that show is to outrage the audience at what they mistakenly believe is some idiot taking some odd position. Again, a lot of outrage and shock without getting anywhere.

I can handle Howard Stern (the radio shows I've heard seem a lot unlike what I saw on E! when I had cable). He is not on the radio here locally so I've rarely caught his show (generally only an hour or 3). What I admire about Howard Stern is that he runs for 40 minutes without a commercial break it seems. Commercials and news seem to be blocked at the top of the hour. He'll conduct an interview but he doesn't approach the guests the same way. His political discussions rarely make it to E!. There's times where I don't listen to any talk radio because the show has a guest host, an interview guest, or some other topic that is of absolutely no concern to me (remote broadcasts generally aren't as good of programs). I do listen to music on radio at times too.

I don't either... except 2 nights a go, My wife and I had to take ma to the emergency room for severe pain in neck and shoulders and KGO was one of the only stations I could pullin on my little headset radio I brought with to listen to while we waited for tests ,etc.

He is a decrepit POS... he loves to bash Bush and the Iraq situation especially gets him worked up about why we are going back in soon. It's all about Oil, yaknow. Listening to a couple of the bootlicking callers, I almost was gonna ask for an anti-nausea shot myself.

If we run out of Daisy Cutters , we could always drop him on our enemies (but I think that would be a violation of environmental laws). ;-)

For some reason, I have lost all my patience and tolerance for all the anti-war geeks. They just don;t get it.. and would probably rather see the US take another major attack and major casualties on our soil , and then have the audacity to say "We deserved it!"... again.

My wife just looks at me now when I start screaming at the TV when the anti-war folks come on with their lame, OH , we shouldn't pre-emptively attack, they haven't done anything to us,, or they would never use WMD on us. sighhhh...

Yeah I never really cared for the Phil Hendree show. A little too comical to be taken as a serious discussion of the issues. I admit, there are certain rants that the hosts get on that send me channel hopping. Perfect example, today Sean Hannity was talking about how some columnist was whacking him in an article in Playboy. Sean said that "anyone who buys Playboy is a loser and can't have a normal relationship with a woman." I about wrecked my car. Now that offended me on two levels, my dad reads Playboy and he and my mom have been married 37 years in April. My WIFE got my subscription for me! And last time I checked, I may be a little nerdy at times, I don't genuflect at the alter of PC and I have trouble getting places on time. But I am certainly not a LOSER! LOL! But as soon as he got off that rant I was ok. Even The God Father (Rush) says somethings at times that I disagree with.

Maybe when you do sit through the show... you'll hear what he's trying to say.

I can hear what he's trying to say, and even agree with it, and still consider the show to be awful.

Instead of dismissing him as a blowhard.

I'm not "dismissing him as a blowhard." I'm saying that I think his show's awful, whether I agree with him or not. Even when I agree with him (which is, frankly, more often than not) he's neither entertaining nor particularly enlightening. Rush is a blowhard, but I find his show to be usually both of those things. Savage is a blowhard, and I find neither.

I have a Laura Ingraham addiction, and she keeps getting pre-empted by damned hocky games too. Sigh.

I do have to admit that his latest ragging of the liberation of Iraq has caused me to channel surf more than often. I hope that he's not turning into another Bill O'Riley, who's let success go to his head and unleash an out of control ego.

Oooh Rah Devil Dog!

You obviously don't have a clue my friend. Hannity is fantastic. Granted, he's not up on the latest current events at all times, and isn't all that creative, but I can't think of anyone who is better at outing the liberal lies, cutting through their BS, speaking clearly on the issues, and standing on the high morale ground at all times. He'll rip someone apart if they try to BS him. I think he's fantastic. In great part, it's the likes of Rush and Sean that get out the message, and help us take over the Senate recently.

Well, he doesn't have the pipes for radio that's for sure. ANd thank God he doesn't have a TV show cause he's got a face made for radio. He must have really turned the rhetoric up lately. I haven't listened to him in a couple months. Been listening more to Michael Reagan. I'll have to tune in tomorrow nite and see what's up.

Is there ANYONE out there who actually brings in guests to talk about relevant issues WITHOUT constantly injecting HIMSELF into the discussion?

Lee Rodgers is pretty good.5-9AM PST

Thing I like about Sean is that he's not afraid to invite the Liberal Lemmings on the air. Then he proceeds to sell them the rope by which they hang themselves. Perfect example was the interview with David Clemmon the other day. The icing on the cake was James Woods coming on in a cold call and ripping that guy a new one as well.
