Hil's call to arms misses city base

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is a little off-base when it comes to New York's military installations.

Brandishing Clinton's credentials as the first New York senator - ever - to be appointed to the Armed Services Committee, her office went to pains yesterday to list New York facilities under the committee's purview.

"I will be better able to support New York's military bases and ensure that New York's defense industry continues to play a significant role," Clinton said in a statement.

The release went on to list West Point, Fort Drum, the Watervliet Arsenal and Hancock Air Field among "key sites."

But forgotten was the only active military base in New York City: Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn.

It was no small oversight: The 177-year-old base guarding New York Harbor, named for Alexander Hamilton, has been home to many of the nation's best-known officers, and the base played a major role after the Sept. 11 attacks when it housed 500 National Guard personnel.

In her defense, Clinton's office said the list of installations was "not inclusive" and that many were not mentioned.

Yeah, she's a NYer...right. I heard her on the news yesterday making statements that during the presidential transition, her husband "warned" GWB, advising him that the one thing that needed top priority attention when GWB was coming into office was "Saddam, Bin Laden and terrorism", but, says President Bush didn't bother paying any attention to the matter until after 9/11. (I'm losely quoting her, but have it pretty much on target.) The woman is such a liar and really makes me sick.

First, I want to thank you, not just for saving me from the draft,

Hard to believe we are still free after 8 years of that puke in the White House.

But, of course, He DID do something....he told GWB! That was about as serious as he could get about it. I mean, he let OBL go so many times during his presidency ...there must have been a good reason right? Maybe he was just too busy with Moncia, poor fellow.

Heard Bagdad Jennings state on Donahue last night that if only this administration had taken the time to use their influence in the middle east then the Palestinian/Israeli conflict would have been resolved. NO MENTION OF THE EIGHT PREVIOUS YEARS OF FAILURE. He mentioned only Oslo in passing as tho Wye Plantation had never existed.

Actually, that's a fairly close quotation, WoS.

But I believe her about as much as you do -- maybe even a little less. If hussein and bin laden were such causes of concern, why didn't she and her sink-lovin' hubby do anything during their 8 long years? Or is she now denying that the sinkmaster turned down three offers to have bin laden handed over?!
