I am reminded of GWB's words "you are with us or against us" (paraphrased).

Seems to me that if the French and Germans send troops to Iraq to keep us from starting the war to rid Saddam of WMD, they are clearly against us. I would interpret this as not ambivalent about supporting us at all, but choosing sides.
