Kennedy: Denial or fraud? (Boston Herald Blasts Teddy Over Iraq)

Once again Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is grasping at straws - really only one thin reed, this time - on the issue of Iraq.
While Kennedy acknowledged that Secretary of State Colin Powell made ``a very convincing case'' against Saddam Hussein on the issue of his concealing weapons of mass destruction, he added, ``The case has not been made linking Iraq to al-Qaeda.
``There are al-Qaeda in Iraq,'' Kennedy said. ``There are al-Qaeda in the United States.''
That is the sorriest excuse for logic the senior senator has ever exhibited.
There is a real difference, of course, between finding a terror cell in Buffalo - and arresting its members - and allowing, even encouraging, a terrorist training camp in Iraq. Could Kennedy truly not appreciate that little distinction?
But as to Kennedy's broader point about the link - now that surely requires a major-league act of denial.
How can he ignore the terror trail, documented by Powell, of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, who moved his base of operations from Afghanistan to northeastern Iraq, where he has been operating for at least the past eight months? And, Powell noted, Zarqawi and his associates travel freely back and forth to Baghdad. The secretary blamed Zarqawi's cell for the assassination of American diplomat Laurence Foley in Jordan last October. Convincing evidence of that came from a congratulatory call to the assassins by a Zarqawi deputy who was en route from Iraq to pay them.
At the training camp - which Saddam allows Zarqawi to operate - operatives are trained in making ricin and other poisons. And that relationship flows from the years when, according to Powell, Iraq was the willing supplier of poisons and gases to al-Qaeda operatives in Afghanistan.
If Ted Kennedy believes nothing short of a direct attack on the sovereign territory of the United States warrants a military response, then let him say so. But to look at facts and not see is an act of intellectual fraud.

A direct attack on U.S. territory did happen on 9-11.

Yes, but not anywhere that would affect Teddy politically.

The Kennedy genome is so mutated and entangled that there is no more the Catholic church can do for them.

If Ted Kennedy believes nothing short of a direct attack on the sovereign territory of the United States warrants a military response, then let him say soOn another thread it was reported that Ted Kennedy said just that during his Iraq rant on Cspan (I believe it was last Thursday). Was that ever verified??

Re your # 6...
The Kennedy family is replete with rapists, murderers, drunks, cheats (Teddy paid to have his Harvard Law test taken by another), cowards, and assorted misfits...But all dearly loved by the bewildered sheeple of Massachusetts.

Could we have a GOP senator from Massachusetts?
If John Kerry was elected in 2004 (ha ha ha!) Governor Mitt would appoint a Pub to replace him (insert Teddy/alcohol/pub joke here).
Okay, back to reality. Teddy is up in 2006; will he run again? Paul Celucci could come back from Canada and win an open seat, or even defeat Ted; Mitt put up a strong showing in '94.

Big Daddy Joe must be turning over in his grave. He had 2 sons who served in the military for their country (even tho' it was surely done for political purposes). Joe, Jr. died in the service of his country and we all know of JFK's story as PT commander. How did old Joe father such a yellow coward as Teddy who whines and cringes at the thought of war? Then this morning a story shows up in the Baltimore Sun that the Feds are investigating the DEMS (Kathleen Kennedy Townsend) for paying election people in the past election. Too much inbreeding I would say.

Nah, Teddy is just like his philandering, alcoholic, lying and pascifist Daddy.
Last week there was a History Channel program on young Joe Kennedy Jr.
As our ambassador to England, old man Kennedy defended Hitler just like his fat son is defending his cash cow, Uncle Soddomite.
Old man Kennedy insulted anyone who wanted to stop the blatant aggression of Hitler and the Imperial Japanese. His claim like the leaders of our present Rats and third party losers was when we are attacked at home, then we can declare war. This caused a lot of problems with Dunkirk and other actions with the Brits. Since he had helped finance FDR into the presidency, he stayed on as our ambassador.
This made the Brits very angry. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and we declared war on them. Three days later Hitler declared war on us. Apparently while drunk old man Kennedy in high circles in London was still defending Hitler and saying we should not be in the war.
Churchill complained to FDR and old man Kennedy was relieved of his ambassador post and called home.
In the meantime Jack and Joe Jr over their clymer father volunteered for duty in the US Navy.
Old man Kennedy was just like the POS son, Teddy, the blubber, aka, the woman killer.

I remember thinking when I either read or saw it what a scumbag the old man was. You're so right, Teddy is his father's son!! Now there's a message we need to yell loud and clear: DADDY JOE SUPPORTED HITLER - SON TEDDY SUPPORTS SADDAM ---- LIKE FATHER LIKE SON!!
