[history]
Indicating a new level of concern about a potential terrorist strike, homeland security officials called on citizens to buy duct tape, plastic sheeting, and food and water to prepare for a possible chemical or biological attack.
The plastic sheeting and tape, meant to seal doorways and windows, was just one in a series of steps federal officials suggested Americans take to protect themselves. They also advised Americans to begin assembling disaster-supply kits, including gallons of water, nonperishable food and medical supplies. While relatively simple, advance preparation could save lives in the event of a disaster.

the terrorisim tips here Where were we told to prepare in this way, or did the media possibly, make this up?

Question...Just seal windows and doors or seal the whole room?

In a chemical strike, where harmful materials can be surreptitiously leaked or sprayed in public places, an immediate shower is crucial. Sounds like a good idea.

"The plastic sheeting and tape, meant to seal doorways and windows, was just one in a series of steps federal officials suggested Americans take to protect themselves." Besides...it already says in this threads article it is series.

Another question. Do I seal off my doors and windows now, or wait untill it has been confirmed that biological or radiological weapons have been used (in which case, it would be too late)? At least I don't need to worry about windows, I've got the new XP version which has excellent security (joking of course).
Seriesly though, if you need me, I'll be in the shower.

Question...Just seal windows and doors or seal the whole room? Just the windows and doors (and heating and cooling vents) is normally sufficient. Stay indoors. If there's indications that the water supply has been contaminated you can shut off your water supply and use the water in your hot water heater.
