Good question. Almost beside the point. I think he's dead. But that doesn't mean the tape isn't meant to be whatever it is -- ie warning, message etc...

Whether bin Laden is alive or dead and they are still using him as a symbol doesn't change the issues at hand or concerns the tape brings up.

What does it really matter if the tape is really Usama Bin Laden? Will the radical Muslims who hear it care one way or another? Whomever made the audio knows this so it serves its purpose as a call to kill the infidel regardless of whether or not it is Bin Laden.
