FYI, living down in the Keys of Florida, we are always ready to be "without" for up to a week just in case the "big one" hits. Assume the worst my friend. We assume that if we get a big hurricane, re-supply will not occur for at least 2 weeks. That's the safest assuption if the proverbial SHTF. But never, ever forget to make sure your liqour and battery stores are up to snuff. In West Germany during drills once you were tagged "dead" it was always good to have some Scotch and CD's with you in the field. I always assume the same on the home front...

Same thing in Southern California, but a diferent "big one." I live 3 miles from the epicenter of the Northridge quake -- something no one could ever forget or want to experience again!!
We got all the stuff we need -- flashlights, emergency lighting, potable water, canned and dried food, BEER, the whole bit.

The liquor store is tomorrow, never fear.
I WILL NOT run out of booze...
