The following is a short description of the major gun control legislation introduced as of this date (including "line numbers"). The Illinois legislature is back in session, with a DEMOCRATIC Governor, DEMOCRATIC controlled House and Senate.

My apologies for any bad word-wrapping.

SB0045 93rd General Assembly

Abstract: Creates the Firearm Liability Act. Provides that a firearm transferor is strictly liable in a civil action for death, injury, or property damage resulting from the use of a firearm that was unlawfully sold, transferred, or caused to be sold or transferred. Provides that the plaintiff may recover punitive damages in addition to all other lawful damages, court costs, and attorney's fees.

And also this bill ...

SB0238 93rd General Assembly

Abstract: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Prohibits the transfer or possession with intent to transfer of more than one handgun during a 30-day period. Creates a handgun database maintained by the Department of State Police that may be accessed by law enforcement officers.

And this one:

HB1625 93rd General Assembly

[Ballistic Fingerprinting]

Abstract: Creates the Pistol and Revolver Ballistic Identification Databank Act. Provides that beginning April 1, 2005, any manufacturer that ships, transports, or delivers a pistol or revolver to any person in this State must, in accordance with rules adopted by the Department of State Police, On and after April 1, 2005, any manufacturer that ships, transports, or delivers a pistol or revolver to any person in this State must, in accordance with rules adopted by the Department of State Police, include in the container with the pistol or revolver a separate sealed container that encloses:

(1) a shell casing of a bullet or projectile discharged from the pistol or revolver; and

(2) any additional information that identifies the pistol or revolver and shell casing as required by the rules adopted by the Department of State Police.

It appears this is merely a shadow of upcoming nightmares we should expect from this general assembly.

I'm not feeling too nervous about this one. These fools are as transparent as their counterparts in D.C. You want to drive gun owners underground, fine. I'll gladly join that kind of criminal class. There are times when the people just have to take matters into their own hands, peacefully at the polls, appealing to the courts, or armed and in numbers at the Capitol.

Why yes. I have'nt read about a crime or crooked politician in Chicago since... a few minutes ago!

Asked my Representative, Robert Biggins, to add an unrestricted CCW ammendment; should the ballistics DNA bill exit the judical committee, and head for the House floor.

Today's LTE copied off another thread:

My letter to the Sun Times:

Mayor Daley should remember that his name is NOT King Richie II.

If the good(?) Mayor wishes for the law abiding citizens of Chicago to be helpless victims of criminals, that is one thing. When he starts to overstep his bounds by trying to dictate how the rest of the State lives, that is going too far.

I for one am sick and tired of Mayor Daley protecting gang bangers, rapists, terrorists, and thugs by preventing honest citizens from defending themselves. He wants us to be defenseless victims while he is surrounded by armed bodyguards.

Hypocrite!

Lets write to the papers like the dumbocraps vote around here. . . . Frequently!

What amuses me most about Chicago autocrats, they exempt themselves from the gun laws they expect everyone else to follow.

Picture this: AlderCreature Dorothy "the hat" Tillman with a gun in her purse.
