N Korea: we can hit US targets anywhere
By Colin Adamson, Evening Standard
13 February 2003
North Korea has said it has the military capability to attack American targets worldwide, it was reported today.
A senior foreign ministry official made the claim as tension grows over North Korea's plans to expand its nuclear arsenal.
"In case there is a selfdefensive measure, the attack can be taken to all military personnel and all military commands of the United States in the world," said Ri Kwang Hyok.
He added: "Wherever they are we can attack them. There's no limit to our attack ability." However, he would not be drawn on exact details of weapons, saying: "I'm not an expert so I am not sure but we have long-range missiles and our people have the ability of striking enemies far away."
The claim came as South Korea urged the UN to pursue a diplomatic solution to the region's nuclear crisis.
The plea by the South Korean foreign ministry followed a decision yesterday by the UN nuclear watchdog to refer the issue to the Security Council. The council could consider sanctions against North Korea, a measure that South Korea opposes.
"We hope the UN Security Council can prevent the situation from deteriorating and can handle the issue in a way that encourages a diplomatic solution," the ministry said.
The crisis began in October, when US officials said North Korea had admitted to a nuclear programme. Washington suspended fuel shipments, and North Korea in turn expelled UN nuclear monitors.

""In case there is a selfdefensive measure, the attack can be taken to all military personnel and all military commands of the United States in the world," said Ri Kwang Hyok." Now, if communist China had said this then yeah, it would be true.

Can their missiles really launch through 2 feet of glass?
I'll bet we could find an R&D Neutron weapon to test at that location.
Yes, there are a few more that "No ways" to stop them!

If my memory serves me correct, was it not the administration of William Jefferson Clinton who gave ballistic missle R& D information to the North Koreans?

They also have the Philosophers Stone and The Ark of the Covenant. I'm scared.

North Korea has said it has the military capability to attack American targets worldwide, it was reported today. Yeah, but do you have the might to withstand the reign of hell that will pour on you once that happens?

He added: "Wherever they are we can attack them. There's no limit to our attack ability." It's funny the Soviet Union, who had far more ICBM's didn't think there was no "limit" to their attack ability.Maybe this guy should do a Google search on "Country with the most devastating arsenal of nuclear weapons known to man"

The way NK is ratcheting up the rhetoric just as we are getting to Nut-Cracking time in Iraq, is there any doubt that they are acting in concert?
This is the equivalent of jumping up and down and yelling to distract a bear from attacking your buddy. But when the bear turns on you, you better watch out!
Fortunately in this case, the bear is very single minded and determined, and NK's buddy is toast!

Hey NK - since you say you can hit our west coast - how about using Hollyweird as a target?? (Can't believe I said that!)

Too bad we don't have any missile defense. Remind me to send a thank you note to all my Democratic representatives next election day.

And we are worried about a missle that maxes out at 110 miles? Im not sure we have our priorities in order.Do you think that perhaps our government has certain intelligence to which the general public is not privy?

All we have to do is cut our food aid to N. Korea and the dude with his finger over the button will die of hunger.
