Operation Shiloh Begins Anti-Terrorism Training for North Americans

(IsraelNN.com) Operation Shiloh is a hands-on, four-day anti-terrorism training course designed for North Americans. Operation Shiloh was developed in consultation with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and is conducted in Israel.

Operation Shiloh has two main objectives: to provide participants rare insight into how the IDF, the most experienced anti-terror force in the world, successfully combat terrorism in all its forms; and to provide participants with state-of-the-art anti-terror and personal empowerment training to minimize the chances of becoming a victim of terror at home.

Participants will be based at a facility used to train elite IDF and Mossad forces and trained by IDF personnel and ex-security operatives. Almost half of the program is devoted to personal training and firing range instruction on Uzis and M-16’s, as well as paintball terror simulations.

Recent FBI warnings have emphasized that the American Jewish community is particularly vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Since September 11, the entire world turned to Israel for her expertise against an irrational, suicidal foe.

Operation Shiloh participants will benefit from that expertise, taking home the skills necessary to minimize the chance of being victimized by terror - at home, at school, in a restaurant, at the mall, at synagogue or in church.

Space in Operation Shiloh is limited, and applications are being accepted now. To learn more about Operation Shiloh and to apply, go to the website .

I think this is the type of training the US Goverrnment should be conducting for American civilians on a massive scale, however this is probably in opposition to the philosophy of most or all federal agencies. They don't seem to like the idea of civilians being responsible or capable of self defense or anti terrorist operations. It may even be illegal under the USA Patriot act, or other anti crime legislation, to participate in this type of training. Expect to end up on some government list(s) of suspicious people if you take this before mastering the art of alternate identity.

Cool...new scenario game idea. Rescue the hostage from the terrorists. Now if I could just get some swarthy looking guys to play terrorists.

Operation Shiloh should use some of that cash to get someone who knows web programming. Frontpage is by far one of the worst programs to use, IMHO.

Please know that I meant "swarthyguy" in the same vein of respect as I would in describing myself as a "redneck". No disrespect intended.

Are those troops Burkas(sp)?

I wonder what the Jewish-Americans Schumer, Feinstein, and Boxer have to say about this?

The idea is excellent, but the logo could use some work.

Oh, I don't know. It sorta reminds me of something. Perhaps that's the idea.

No sweat vigilanteman, us swarthies tend to have rather thick skins. And there are few Nordics who adhere to the "religion" of peace. You'd never know that by the random inspections at the airports, tho.

Gurkhas, not Burkhas, LOL! Never ask a Gurkha that.

It's not entirely true that Gurkhas conduct their training exercises with live ammo instead of blanks. I once got to attend one of their nighttime immediate reaction drills, where they first practiced their conduct in the daytime, and rather a great many blanks were expended, though not at all wastefully.

Then, when they actually ran through the operation in the darkness, they switched over to live ammo. I was offered the opportunity to back out, but I figured they knew what they were doing, and I resolved to simply hold my own fire and not screw anything up, unless I had a really certain target.

Not a thing went wrong; nobody hurt beyond a sprained ankle or two, and the result was training conducted with the seriousness it deserved. They know exactly what they're doing.

Oh, none taken! The Gurkhas are of Nepal's mountain regions, and like their tough little Sherpa cousins, life there has given them a considerable resistance to taking offense at imagined insult, though they're pretty good at dealing with intentional ones. If I've picked up anything during my own too-infrequent associations with them, I hope that trait is among them; you'll not meet a more cheerful, often downright jolly bunch of people, though when it gets down to business, they can be quite fierce enough.

Are those troops Burkhas(sp)?

Pretty close; it's Gurkhas , sometimes spelled Ghorkhas, and you can learn a little of their long service as soldiers in the service of Britain's monarchy [for nearly as long as Britain's first adventures in India, nearly as long as the USA itself has been in existance!] at the links *here* and *here*, though their service is not limited to just the British Army.

Paintball? Yay! No bullets flying at us! Fun!
