Iraqi-Americans and supporters of democracy in a post-Saddam Iraq will hold a rally to demand the liberation of the oppressed Iraqi people from the Saddam regime.
Rally participants will demand that Saddam Hussein step down immediately to avoid imminent war.
They also will demand the United Nations Security Council enforce all UN Security resolutions guaranteeing the civil and human rights of the Iraqi people, especially Resolutions 688 and 1441; Indict Saddam Hussein and charge as a war criminal; Secure the release of Adnan Abdul Kareem, the young Iraqi turned over January 25 to Iraqi security forces by UN weapons inspectors after he sought refuge at the UN compound in Baghdad; and support free and democratic elections be held in post-Saddam Iraq under the supervision of international observers.
WHEN: Sat., Feb. 15, 2003, 12:00 pm-4:00 pm
WHERE: SE corner of Market and Fifth Streets, near KYW Building, Phila., PA, next to Independence Hall
"More than 200 years ago, on this very site, our founding fathers wrested their freedom from a brutal tyrant who deprived them of life and liberty," stated Aziz Al-Taee, chairman of the Iraqi-American Council. "Once again, on this historic site, we demand the liberation of the Iraqi people from the murderous grip of Saddam Hussein.
"If Saddam does not step down and he forces a war on the free world, it must be a war of liberation, not occupation. Only Iraqis can determine their own destiny. We will not support the Saddam regime or a military government imposed by occupying forces."

I'll be in NYC Saturday with the Tri-State Chapter, however I urge those in the area not planning to go to New York to please stop by and support our friend Aziz and his fellow Iraqi-Americans.
Aziz is a naturalized American citizen. He spoke at the last two Patriots rallies held by the D.C. Chapter. Some of you may have seen him on the C-SPAN broadcast of our October rally.
In the current Time magazine, you can see a photo from the rally Aziz organized at the U.N. when Colin Powell spoke there last week. The photo is of two Iraqi-American children holding American flags and photos of the smoldering ruins from attacks by Saddam on his own people.
BTW, I'm sure Aziz understands that a short-term occupation will have to take place if we have to remove Saddam by force. He is asserting the right and desire to assume the responsibility of the Iraqi people to establish a free democratic government.

I saw him on C-SPAN in Oct. That man had fire and passion in his voice, and I still remember him leading the chants over the microphone, "Saddam Is Murder, He Must Go!" I loved every second of it.
Thank you, Kristinn.

I'd like to try and get there too -- but not if the storm they're predicting comes thru' -- I wonder if they'd make it another day if the weather is really bad ??

Saturday is the day for them to do this because of all the "anti-war" demos. There'll be another chance soon, though.

Meekie, could you please ping your list! Thank you. Iraqi-Americans are rallying for the
liberation of Iraq today. The "caring" leftist press and peaceniks ignore them.

Disappointed freeper here- I attempted to travel on the interstate in central Illinois in order to reach Lansing, Mich., today (320 miles). Roads were dangerous. At times I was the sole vehicle on the highway. Speeds of 30mph to 50mph. Roads were snow packed with an ice base as it rained, then sleet fell, finally the snow arrived as predicted. Good luck to all.

FWIW I did drive the 320 miles to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Jan. 29th. President Bush came to town, after the State of the Union address the night before. We- 25 strong, took on about 500-1,000 leftists.
I stayed up all night making signs for today's main event. Here are my latest creations...
