BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- The European Union on Friday canceled a summit with African leaders because of disagreement over whether to invite President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden were among EU nations strongly opposed to inviting Mugabe to the April 5 summit in Lisbon, Portugal. African nations had indicated they would stay away if Zimbabwe were excluded.

More evidence backing the claim that France is trying to present itself as the sole voice for the EU. They might recall that the last feller who said "l'etat, c'est moi" wore a French crown.

The EU also banned the sale of arms to Zimbabwe and froze the country's assets in Europe.

as with other e.u. actions and international agreements, the bans do not apply to france.

"France had threatened to bloc the extension of sanctions against Mugabe if it did not get an exemption for the Zimbabwean leader to travel to France."

"Bloc"? Does France believe it now controls so many states from Brussels that it has bloc states at it's beck and call? How many leaders can Jaques bloc, presuming Jaques and keep blocking those leaders?

More importantly, will this have any detrimental effect of the alliance of the Axis of Weasles? That was a rhetorical question. It'll probably have no effect at all.

It is not a coincidence that France stands up for all these rogue states and leaders.
