Um, I think there's a real good reason for that. Mr. O'Connor isn't available for Leftist dupe duties any longer.

BINGO! There's the answer. Other than LOTR I haven't been to a move in 12-14 years. I spend my evenings with the children, surfing the net, at social events, church, political events and working with service organizations. Most everything shows up on tv sooner or later anyway.
amazing..
also, please add John Rhys-Davies - I have posted the info on my blog...
Everytime I see a list like this I am reminded that the right refuses to take its own advice and turn off the television and radio. People wouldn't get so hysterical about some musician's idiotic spewing if they weren't, at heart, seeing this drug-addled waste-of-oxygen as a good person, worthy of emulation. Don't boycott movies or CDs-- stop buying People magazine and turn off Entertainment Tonight. Examan your cult of celebrity.
If an actor really really believes that the environment is in danger, they should put their own money to the cause, and campaign in arenas that are relevant to that cause. They should also demonstrate that they have RESEARCHED the cause as much as possible. Far too many agree to be automatic mouthpieces for eco-terrorist groups like Greenpeace and Earth First without ever having looked into the issue. Far too many are willing to grandstand for a cause for their own personal glory, rather than working with others who have devoted themselves to the cause.
It also irks me that actors presume to think they can influence legislation by accompanying lobbies (Meryl Streep, Harrison Ford) to harrass Congressmen into passing laws on things they think should happen, but that is closer to the process of civil participation than doing an egregious commercial full of lies (Susan Sarandon.) Congressmen at least have the ability, as representatives of their constituents to say yea or nay to the lobbiests...who can answer to a commercial and pin Susan Sarandon to the wall for what she said? How can people respond? There are no representatives to talk to, no collective ability to fund a rebuttal. She hasn't garnered the constituency to answer to, only fandom...and they are very selective about which part of the fandom they will listen to. Its this illegitimate form of influence that sullies true American civil society. They are Marxists. They refuse to be held accountable.
Still, there *are* movies I would like to see, despite who may be in them. I will definitely support the conservative actors, but if one of them is not in a movie that I am particularly interested in, it will be hard for me to agree to go.
Lord of the Rings Two Towers was the last movie I saw, despite the fact that McKellen is a flaming homosexual with an extreme communist view, and Viggo has proved himself to be as dumb as a rock outside the role of Aragorn, but there is also Sean Astin and John Rhys Davies...and Elijah Wood, who, from all interviews I have read, has a very good head on his shoulders. He is a rarity and is nothign but class. For all I know, he may be as communist as McKellen, but he doesn't presume to 'own' the bully pulpit. He knows what he has to do to earn that...and that is not the ambition that he has for himself. Even if his views are anti-American, I would support going to any movie he is in simply because he is a wonderfully talented actor and THAT deserves my support.
If Sean Astin decides to run for office, he is taking the steps necessary to gain a constituency and is courageous enough to put himself in the line of criticism. I may or may not agree with his vision of government, but he at least will have earned the bully pulpit by running for election. THAT is the freedom of speech we need to be bolstering.
Isn't she the President of the Screen Actors Guild and a Republican?
... too cool! Gary Moore, ZZ Top and sneak in a little Grand Funk Railroad. ... also, if I blow the picture again ... sorry.
