Someone once posted on the USO Canteen thread the story behind "Taps". It was a very inspiring read...

If he only got 20 rds. off using an "automatic" weapon - then he only got one or two bursts off.
Now, does "automatic" mean full-auto, or just simply self-loading?

South Houston/Galveston Co. has a serial killer too. He likes young teen age girls. I haven't heard about a victim in a while maybe he has moved to BR.. How long have these murders been going on over there?

***Well, he used a rifle to assault them - so it's an assault rifle.***
So, Harry Tracy stacked up lawmen like cordwood using nothing but a 30-30 Winchester. None of the lawmen said they were "outguned".

I think the four that have been DNA linked range from mid 2001 with the last being in late 2002. There were two 40 yr olds and one in her 20s....

Possible terrorism ping. Not enough info to know yet, but I remember the article that said A-Q was planning to attack LEOs.
The first one went down in an ambush. The bystanders jeered the LEOs on this one. Black muslims? Al-Fuqra?
I seriously doubt this is about the serial killer--he'd have no reason to phone in a false robbery report, then ambush the LEO.

Maybe our killer did move over to BR. The girls over here weren't found soon enough for them to find any DNA & some of them have never been found. Tragic. I pray they find your killer or killers soon.

This poor victem of a racist society that did the shooting will get "walked" by the jury in an "OJ" type nulification and we must simply relax and understand. Let's hope the guilty person does not have that much money.

Here is the lastest! Two cops were killed.
Two Alexandria officers killed in gun battle; others injured
Posted on February 20, 2003
A member of the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office runs at the scene of a shootout that killed two Alexandria police officers today.
Two Alexandria police officers were killed today in a shootout near Overton and Warshauer streets as police closed in on a suspect believed to be involved in a Wednesday ambush on another officer.
The slain officers were identified as Jay Carruth and David Ezernack.
Three other officers were shot, said Police Chief Tommy Cicardo. Several other officers also were injured.
The suspect also was killed. He was not identified by police, but sources told The Town Talk he was Shawn Molette, who is believed to be in his mid-20s.
The wounded were taken to both St. Frances Cabrini and Rapides Regional hospitals.
Randolph had been in Baton Rouge, meeting with House Speaker Charlie DeWitt, when he received a cell phone call about the incident. He rushed back to Alexandria and went to Cabrini to be with the officers' families.
Of course its one of the worst days that our community has seen, Randolph said.
They are very brave and amazing, Randolph said of the families. I cant tell you how much those folks are genuine heroes for us.
The city is holding a candlelight vigil for the slain and injured officers Friday at 6 p.m. at Alexandria Convention Hall.
While trying to resolve the sitation, police also had to contend with people jeering them, some shouting obscenities.
This isnt over, said a man who stood in the crowd gathered at Overton and Huffman streets. He asked not to be identified. This has just begun.
As police told a crowd of onlookers gathered on Wise Street to move and to take refuge in a house, several began screaming obscenities: F--- you. You cant tell me what to do.
Just before 3:30 p.m., police began surrounding the area with yellow crime scene tape and it appeared the situation was under control.

How incredibly sad.... I'm about an hour away from Alexandria and I heard on the local news that the shooters family would be holding a press conference within the next couple of days and they would be accompanied by the NAACP. (I hate to think about the spin this hateful organization will try to put on this tragedy)
To: Larightgirl
So this guy ambushes a policeman, the police find him and try to arrest him, and FIVE policemen are shot. Two of them die. Now the family is breaking out the NAACP? Great. Someone call the ACLU while they're at it...
Terribly sad is right, LRG ...

My brother is a Alex SRT Officer...he lead the operation after the 2 officers had been shot. Apparently this was drug and gang related. There was a fake 911 call the previous night and an officer was fired on but not killed. The officers were trying to serve a warrent when they were ambushed. My brother has been through so much and today he had attended the furneral where a 21 gun salute almost put the entire SRT Team back into shock. All of this can be yours for 9 bucks an hour. It's time to get these heros some more money, equipment and support.
