We had an ambush here (Mobile) about a year ago. The police did not fire any shots as they escaped but the perps accidently shot and killed a 7 year old boy with their errant shots. I think four eventually went to prison .

Hmmm...sounds like more liberal puke. What's the truth here - was it a true "assault weapon" which would indicate full-auto fire, or was it a hunting rifle that was reloaded several times? Maybe an SKS or AK-variant? Or could it have been a simple .22 long rifle with a "hot lips" magazine?

The media is so eager to jump on the "assault weapon" theme that they often distort or make up facts.

20 bullets doesn't exactly sound like spraying, unless it was all with one trigger pull and less than 2 seconds.....

Alexandria, Louisiana-AP -- Two police officers and a gunman have been killed in a two-hour shootout in the town of Alexandria, Louisiana.
The assistant police chief says the gunman ambushed members of a SWAT team who were searching for a suspect in an earlier shooting.He says hundreds of shots were fired during the gunbattle, describing it as unbelievable. One witness says he hadn't seen anything like it since Vietnam.Students at a nearby school were locked inside during the shootout and were not injured.The officers were the first killed by gunfire in Alexandria in 40 years. The town plans a vigil tonight in their honor.Besides the dead, three other officers were wounded. They're hospitalized in stable condition.Copyright 2003 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
