>>>The more you know about this stuff the more you realize how hard it is to use.
I really appreciate information like this. I have mostly calmed down on my own since 9/11. The continuous false terrorist threats have lead me to figure out that they only have DNS and psych ops left on their side. Maybe minor successes will occur. But if they had any larger plans, I know they would have happened already.
The media still tries to do its part in flaming the fear. I don't even think I would be as scared if I didn't have children. "Do we really need gas masks?" "They would not fit on my kids face...what now?" "Well if I duct tape the windows....how does that close the central air and dryer vents?" "What happens while my kids are in school?"
I really wish the media would knock off the thirst for hype and educate us they way FreeRepublic does. I find I'm more afraid of the media now adays vs. any possible terror threats.

All is well....All is well...All is well, now I can un-duct tape my head and relax.

I hear even "conservative" talk radio fanning the flames. Their agenda is obvious, of course: get on board the war wagon and let's kick Saddam's a$$... but, even though I see the need to do that, I see NO need to scare folks the way they are. It's totally unnecssary and WRONG.

The Army doesn't seem to like what he says... Geeze, I wonder why that is? I guess their monopoly on this sort of thing is threatened. But everything he says is what I learned when I did that job. Only difference is that there are times when Marines MUST STAY in a contaminated area, so the danger is greater. For civilians who can (mostly) leave an area, it becomes much less a danger and suddenly a "Weapon of Mass DESTRUCTION" becomes a weapon of mass DELUSION...

Of course logic and facts say anxiety over the use of biological or chemical weapons is ill conceived. On the other hand, look what anthrax did. I think there should be the healthy concern over these things. By that I mean, chances of them hurting you are less than a car accident, but in well placed areas they could serve to paralyze commerce and frighten Americans.
If one looks at some of the written material from Al Qaeda sympathizers you find that they believe our economy is smoke and mirrors, driven by service industry and not brick and mortar type products. They wouldn't consider the effective use of any chemical or biological weapon to be in the number of deaths. What thrilled them about September 11 wasn't the thousands killed, but the shutdown of airlines and the stock market.

Indeed. Which is why panic-PREVENTION is so important. FedGov and the Media are playing up the horrors of an NBC attack and NOT telling people the common-sense things they need to hear. Big surprise, of course. FedGov lies constantly. Then when the few grains of truth come out, no one is listening.
Of course, simple enforcement of the Constitution and Bill of Rights would go a LONG way to preventing further attacks, but it would also point up the utter fallacy of "Government protection" so it'll never happen. They can't have we, the People, knowing how to protect ourselves. Then what would THEY do?

Very interesting; the point about "area denial" makes perfect sense.
