I respect your belief and the sincerity of it, but I can also respect many who do not believe the same as you do.

All the best,

cerb

A Christian respects that others may have their beliefs and I do ... by the Bible a Christian is not allowed to accept other beliefs, serving no master other than Christ ... however we do not make converts by the sword (though it has been tried) ... a person can only become a Christian by personal choice ... indeed the sword only makes enemies and false converts ...

thanks for your post ... FReegards

What's a "collage professor" and what does it have to do with this topic?

Does that work for you?

That's a hoot! "My [college] Professor said so..." Ya, that makes it so...

Well, if [a college professor] did, does it make it false?

What if I sighted 20 reliable historical sources? How about 100?

I have a feeling it would make no difference to you.

That's alright of course, you can believe whatever makes you feel good, as long as your not teaching my kids.

Though most people ignore the fact, almost all of the world's believing Muslims believe that all of mankind should be Muslim.

Hmmm. Don't an awful lot of Christians believe the same thing about Christianity?

Yes, and if you would have taken the time to read the next sentence, you would have seen that the author pointed out this fact. The difference being, of course, that Christians don't jihad to that end, but instead convert through friendship with an underlying principle of free-will.

Obviously, some followers of Islam present serious problems in our world today, but I am not convinced that there are not a good many moderate Muslims.

Of course there are. I know some of them. But don't expect them to stay their more hostile brothers' hands when they finally obtain the power to force islam on the world.

Islam, Christianity and Judaism are all branches of the same tree and worship the same God--a fact that Muslims are much more aware of than most Christians.

No, they are not. This is a very harmful myth used by the ignorant and liars to give the cult of islam some sense of legitimacy. I urge you to read the history of islam more carefully--it developed from a moon-worshipping cult. The one they worship as Allah is akin to the Judeo-Christian Satan.

The common roots of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are common knowledge to anyone who has taken Comparative Religions 101

Mythological roots? Most believe that the people living in the middle east now (and 2000 years ago) are the physical descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael. That said, they are most certainly not the spiritual descendants of Abraham. That is, their religion is not from "the same tree" as Judaism and Christianity. Again, if you take the time to look up some middle eastern history, it is quite clear that pre-muhammad arabs were outright pagans. They did not follow the Judeo-Christian God in any way. Later, muhammad took elements of Judeo-Christian doctrine and tried to mix those with a moon-worshipping cult. That is Islam.

That street goes both ways. And yes I'm glad you're not teaching my kids as well. Our faith does not have its roots in Islam. Islam is a perversion of the Judo Christian faith, which was around long before Mohammad invented his cult.

The average [college professor] will also tell you the world's ills are caused by America, does that make it true?

I did not say that Christianity had its roots in Islam. I said that Christianity, Judaism and Islam have common roots which is a fact.

Indeed there are problems with many of our institutions of higher learning but that does not make all knowledge moot. You cannot paint them all with the same brush whether college professors, Muslims, Blacks, Jews, etc.

If you want to go down that road, one can cite many similar origins for Yahweh going back to the Sumerians, but I don't think anything will convince you.

No, what you said is that all three worship the same God.

No, what you said is that all three worship the same God.

That is true also.

They all worship the "God of Abraham" though there are some who don't want to hear about it.
