***Yes, but then she wouldn't have time to get the laundry done! ***

I'm SO glad someone recognizes the practicality of my situation! (living in the sticks w/no DSL availability DOES have its'rewards).

Look below the "your reply" space - that is a tag line. You can put a tag line in and it will post every time you post, or you can change it to suit you every time you make a statement.

I just called and pointed out every double standard I have learned about here at FR. Now I need to contact the RNC.

Write something in your "tagline". It's under the area where you post.

You know if Frist would just SEND OUT for a few of those, it would all be over.

I have this fantasy of UPS unloading fifty-one cots & sleeping bags, and stacking them by the Repbulican Senators' desks. And then Tom Daschle's head spins around three times.

Harkin:

Now complaining about Bush's plan to make sure Iraq stays liberated after we kill the kook. He doesn't remember debating the idea of staying in Iraw after war. Who decides when we leave??? Who decides?

Answer: The adults will decide Tom and tell you later what they decide.

If I owned a mattress or furniture store, I'd sure e setting up the photo-op and make sure FNC was there to film me and my MATTRESS TRUCK with phone number on it "delivering mattresses to the Senate building".

BS on this 48 hours notice garbage.

Them's the rules. A motion to invoke cloture requires 48 hours notice.

A filibuster can be stopped when the Senate invokes cloture. This can be an arduous task in and of itself. To invoke cloture, a Senator needs to do the following:

1. Wait two days after a filibuster begins.

2. Obtain sixteen signatures on a motion to invoke cloture.

3. Wait another two days before the Senate can vote on cloture.

4. Make sure that three-fifths of the Senate (sixty Senators) vote to end debate.

5. Endure an additional thirty hours of debate before the final roll call vote.

BTW, obtaining cloture is not necessarily a guarantee that the filibuster will be over.

I imagine most Senate offices have at lease a "hid-a-bed" couch in their office some where.
