Is it just me or do the Democrats, who always say they are for the downtrodden and minorities, ALWAYS play the race/sex/religion/ethnicity card first?
That is just stunning, IMO.

Actually......couldn't this all end IF: Next time a motion is made to vote, NO DEMOCRAT objects? That is what is holding it up right now. Then a simple majority or 51 votes would be all that's needed.

Graham is simply a finger to the wind politician. He is afraid to say ANYTHING on Estrada.
If he's not finger to the wind, he's down right dangerous on national security. Regardless of what you think about the merits of Iraq, I think virtually ALL Freepers believe Graham opposed the Iraq resolution simply to oppose so some credible Democrat could say I TOLD YOU SO. Hence the basis for his running. I expect Graham's candidancy to go down in flames as soon as we clean up Iraq.

That's right and that is what SHOULD happen and 51 votes would be needed to seat Estrada.

I wrote Graham about Estrada. His answer was simply the Senate was discussing him. I wrote back and asked his position on a filibuster. I'm waiting for an answer.

Well the only way I know of to shut up all the Democrats at the same time is duct tape. And I think it is against Senate rules to duct tape all the mouths of the opposition closed.
Mrs. Clinton just voted Aye. The Beast is in the house.

Howlin, concerning the Hispanic comment, I haven't heard many actually say this. BUT, if Estrada were say, Estride, and White, but HAD THE EXACT SAME VIEWS, I think he would already have been confirmed. Strictly speaking, this doesn't mean the Dems are racist against Hispanics.
BUT, they do insist on ideological liberal purity from minorities. Therefore any Hispanic conservative, or black conservative (like Clarence Thomas) must be demonized. To allow conservative minorties a clear voice is a MAJOR threat to the Dem power base...why do you think Belafonte is so upset at Powel (because he supports the "master") and Condi?
So, in summation, Democrats are not "racists" as Bill Frist recently said. But they do think they should tell minorities how to think and what is best for them. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

The REGULAR GUY is also in the house.....voted aye. Has he been in NC lately?
To: billva
to everyone who has freeped Graham: THANK YOU and keep it up! We got to Bill Nelson. But Graham is much more of a high profile, esp since he is running for Pres. If he caves, then it's a signal/cover to other wavering Dems.
