Celebrity Hawks (versus "axis of ignorance")

Although Martin Sheen, Susan Sarandon and Janeane Garofalo have been dominating the anti-war airwaves of late, some stars with differing points of view have decided to speak up.

Bruce Willis, Brian McKnight, Kid Rock, Rob Lowe and Jean-Claude Van Damme are saying things that are undoubtedly making the anti-war crowd steam. On the other hand, the celebrity rhetoric that’s coming out of these guys is warming the hearts of the kick-Saddam’s-butt bunch.

According to the New York Daily News, Willis seriously thought about enlisting in the U.S. armed services.

Singer Brian McKnight told MSNBC, “If we do go to war ... I'm going to support whatever President Bush decides to do.”

Kid Rock colorfully expressed his views by saying, “We got to kill that mother-[bleeper] Saddam. Slit his throat.”

Rob Lowe, Sheen’s former co-star on “The West Wing,” told Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" on Monday that Americans should support our armed forces, and that the best way to do that is to support our commander in chief.

And action movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme told Globe magazine, “Some of those in Hollywood are part of the axis of ignorance!”

The Left Coast Report says it’s nice to know that there are celebrities with the mental muscle to go against the grain.

Maybe this is why Lowe left--He saw the light and couldn't take Sheen anymore.

Supposedly, Bruce Willis was so upset with the lefties that he inquired about signing up with the military, but they aren't taking new recruits over the age of 34 or so.

That's just what Hollywood stars did in WWII.

Who give a sh*t what actors think. Their life experience consists of repeating words other people have written for them, and being showered with undeserving lavish, posh, soft lifestyles. I'm sick and tired of the air-play these air-heads get. The only, and I mean ONLY, reason they have their "views" broadcasted is strictly for the ratings [and, thus, revenue] they generate. Enough with Hollyweird. Lets get on with serious discussion.

Isn't Brian McKnight a Republican? I think he performed at the Republican National Convention in 2000, or am I wrong? Can anybody who was there tell me if I'm wrong?

Ahhh...Americans at their finest...seething with anger as we all should be.

Mighty bold talk for a lawyer. You a offense or defense lawyer. I guess you're right though Hollywood is not the issue, pro or con. Glad to hear the pros speaking up though. Sick of the cons.

Kid is so violent and he's still a young guy without the refinement of say Saddam. Good of you to point it out.

“We got to kill that mother-[bleeper] Saddam. Slit his throat.”

Couldn't have said it better or more succinctly myself.

Kid doesn't know who he is yet but at least he is making money. Hanging around Hank Jr. won't help him much. If Jr. writes even one more half baked version of "County Folk can Survive I'll Puke"

Martin sheen has made a fortune through glorifying, depicting and even doing voice over on War and other violent acts.

Sheen has made more money and garnered more political power through glorifying violence and war than have most 3rd world dictators.

How does Sheen, Sarandon, Clooney et al feel about the helpless and the meek when it comes to abortion?
