Clinton Develops Into a Force in the Senate
Washington Post ^ | March 5, 2003 | Jim VandeHei

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, after lying low for most of her first two years, is emerging as one of the Senate's most prominent and influential Democrats, moving aggressively on fundraising and policy matters and fueling speculation that she plans to run for president in 2008.

The only first lady to have served in the Senate, Clinton is playing a key role in a behind-the-scenes effort to create at least one new political group, funded with so-called soft money, to promote the Democratic agenda in the 2004 elections and beyond, Democratic officials said. With her help, leading Democrats are putting the finishing touches on a new "activist think tank" designed to crank out policy ideas and disseminate them to voters without running afoul of the new campaign finance laws, the officials said.

What does she have to offer?

Evil and corruption.
A complete lack of morality in pursuing a goal.
One of the most vicious minds ever to enter politics.
Unshakeable belief that she is right.

Why anyone sees her as a threat is beyond me.

This woman is an extreme threat to our republic. As people have noted here, she lays low. She seems to realize that public appearances are not friendly to her. Instead, she quietly amasses money and power. Fellow dems will come to her. In the meantime, the media demonizes President Bush and creates a myth about the wonderful Clinton tears (when the forces that Pres. Bush is now having to deal with quietly stewed on the back burner--at best x42 did nothing to help matters; at worst, he consciously stirred the pot). Dems are already not looking good on the campaign trail; geopolitical outcomes will determine whether or not Pres. Bush will return to the WH. The Clintons are quietly priming their sources so that if events turn against the US, they will to be called back into their mythological roles of public service to help save the country. Yes, you are correct. She is unattractive. But people can be really stupid and forget the past and how it affects the present.

The Clintons do not follow rules; they make their own and elminiate their opposition in whatever way they feel they need to. This couple is very, very dangerous to our liberty and to the world. Never, ever underestimate them!

This makes sense considering what the Senate has deteriorated into. The Estrada filibuster is reprehensible in so many ways, even many Democrat senators must have trouble justifying it. This is underscored by the fact that only a handful have defended it on the Senate floor. With that in mind, it would take an "in your face", nasty partisian like Hillary to keep the troops in line. We'll see with tomorrow's cloture vote and the succeeding votes whether her "power" is enough to keep any Democrats from defecting. If the Democrats are damaged by this filibuster and end up blinking, Hillary's power will wane.

I actually think there are a lot of similarities here with her attempt to nationalize heathcare. Then, as now, Hillary gained power and immediately went for a homerun over the "extreme Left-field" wall. After her "listening tour" campaign and 2 years on the Senate sidelines, she comes charging onto the field and her first order of business is a stand-off in defense of the Liberal's activist judiciary at the expense of the Democrats's Hispanic voting base. This could backfire on her big time.

Unshakeable belief that she is right.

And an unshakeable belief that she is better than the rest of us, smarter than the rest of us and knows what's best for us.

Hey, this foreign policy cluster up we're in right now is a direct result of the Clinton (two-fer) presidency's inaction for eight years. I'm praying that the majority of Americans realize that President Bush is simply cleaning up the mess they left in the White House, the nation, and the world.

Hey, remember back during the transition of power, when we were all so ticked-off about the vandalism and such? I recall a quote by a Clinton White House staffer, something like: "We left a few surprises..."

Methinks that person was NOT referring to the "W" keys being plucked from the WH computer keyboards.

"Clinton Develops Into a Force in the Senate"

I think that's a typo. It should read "Clinton Develops Into a Farce in the Senate."

FREEPers, I have created the ultimate Estrada activism thread. On it you will find ways to contact Senators, newsspapers, radio/tv people, organizations etc. Go there and help support Estrada. Keep the thread bumped until we get him confirmed.

Being Hispanic for us means much more than having a surname," said New Jersey Rep. Bob Menendez, a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. "It means having some relationship with the reality of what it is to live in this country as a Hispanic American."

This is the Democrat case against Estrada...

Check out this ad The Latino Coalition recently ran in Roll Call! This is a great ad to fax to liberal Dems!

Once, the Hildebitch was touted as, "The Smartest Woman In The Country."

Now, with her new found fame and illegally gained fortune, she should be touted as, "The Most Dangerous Woman In The World." Or perhaps, "The Most Deadly Woman In The World."

I realize, and apologize in advance for same, that the three sentences in quotes demean ALL women.
