Seattle Radio Station causes high school to immediately remove offensive pictures from website

KVI 570 talk show host John Carlson led his 3:00 program today with a topic he researched today. There's a social studies teacher at Issaquah High School who posted offensive propaganda images of the Bush Administration and corporate America.

Turns out the website is integral to this teachers course and required reading for classroom assignments and quizs. The website is also the responsibility of the school district and taxpayer funded.

Carlson's exposure has resulted in the website being cleaned up. All the offensive images are now gone!

Way to go Carlson and KVI 570!

They're doing it to *your* children under government mandate (public schooling).

So this needs to be ended.

The problem is that this is a school teacher that is a government employee. He is not acting as a private citizen.

Also, it may be fine for him to post this crap but it is also fine for the parents of the children being taught to bitch about it if they dont approve.

Would you want your children to be forced to look at only the radical left-wings viewpoints and not even see the other side?

What if the NEA decided to put out right-wing propoganda at all times? I would be against this as well, but it would make me laugh. In all honesty, it is what they deserve, but I hope you see my point.

It was required reading for the teacher's course. Taxpayers are paying for it. Let the teacher do it on his/her own website, not an official teacher website.

Apparently the teacher is a firm believer in censorship -- self-censorship that is.

Especially when it might prevent his getting run out of town on a rail.

When it comes to jerks craming their personal views down the troats of minors, I very much believe in censorship.

I don't like censorship in any form. I trust Americans to make-up their own minds. If these anti-American idiots want to spew one-sided propaganda on their website, fine. Let them be seen as the reactionary idiots that they are.

I trust ADULT Americans to make up their own minds, because they have the option to turn the channel, block the web page from ever showing up on their computer again, etc. This, on the other hand, is a case where kids, who are required by law to be in those schools, were having Bush-hate propaganda forced down their throats against their will. The school and teacher have absolutely ZERO right to do that to other peoples' children.

Beyond that, there are still remnants of teachers' conduct codes. They are not allowed to be anti-American and they're not supposed to bring their private politics into the classroom

I am a Feeeper teacher. I strongly believe that my job, any teacher's job, is to teach, not to indoctrinate. My views are mine I do not impose them on my students. (I do answer their questions about my opinion if they ask about that specifically).

The biggest compliment that I get is "You're not like the other teachers".

Mr. Berka? Oh boy...

(So, a picture of President Bush with Satan, claiming "You too could have a C- average" - which Bush did not, but Al Gore did, according to Carlson...Mr. Berka is not only out-of-line, he's an out-of-line liar.)

"This bastard needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY."

I can't believe what I heard, read. I suppose the teacher walks to school or takes a bike. Give me a f*cking break. You're correct; he needs to be canned immediately.

Fine, so let this teacher set up his/her OWN web site to spew anti-American propaganda. In my book, this teacher does not have the right to use taxpayer-funded school resources for this purpose. Besides, if I want to listen to or view some taxpayer funded I-hate-America rant, I'll turn on PBS or NPR.

If this guy wants to set up evening meetings and invite kids with parents permission when they know what they are okaying, I'm all for it. I'm not okaying spending tax dollars on his efforts to indoctinate.

Someone needs to sit down every one of these teachers and tell them that school does not exist to give them a platform to express their personal opinions. The first amendment does not extend to the work place where statements have consequences especially for government employees. They are free to spew their hatred for America and the President in they're off duty time. Looks like the lack of discipline in schools starts with the teachers.

Keep cramming this leftist propaganda down their throats.... they'll see right through the lies.

No, that's not good enough. If I'm paying this teacher, I don't want them lying to my (admittedly non-existent) kid in the first place.
