BUSH SHOULD PUT UP OR SHUTUP ON IRAQ!

Posted on 03/06/2003 2:00:13 PM PST by BJR

This Bush supporter is about to turn. For months we have heard all the valid reasons for ridding thEE world of Sadam Hussein, over and over and over again. Tonight, the word is that Bush will answer press questions on Iraq and, yet again, assure us all that no decision on war has been made. Great! The markets can continue to collapse, anti-war demonstrations go on, Bush's re-elect poll numbers plummet and Wart Hog Helen gets to ridicule Bush some more.

Well I've had it with Bush. The guy really isn't very smart afterall. And that guy Powell of his has actually done the impossible by making Madeleine Albright look competent in comparison. Bush discarded good advice from experts and get's snookered by Powell into going thru the UN, then watches as the French snooker Powell. And the US now has the humiliating task of begging the likes of Angola and Cameroon for approval to defend the country from horrendous attacks. In the meantime, Powell says we can't talk to North Korea as if just talking was synonymous with re-negotiating an agreement. As a result, Korea may start a war and the US foreign policy is the laughing stock of the world.

Enough is enough! Bush should fire Colin Powell, shutup and stay holed up in the white house until he is actually ready to act as tough as he talks. Come out only to announce the invasion of Iraq or its successful disarming by the UN, whichever comes first.

One of the most important things to realize is that certain senators sit on the Intelligence Committee, and are privy to the information of what the CIA and FBI have been doing.

Two of these senators are running for president, and have been critical of President Bush as abandoning the war on terror. They are Senator Edwards of North Carolina and Senator Graham of Florida.

I hope we can remember this when the campaign begins in earnest.

Nope.

The only WMD deal I know of during the first Gulf war, as a fact, was nothing more than a threat to retaliate with our own WMD is Saddam uncorked his.

This thing by Clinton I never heard of till now.

Look, you can be as over confident as you like, be my guest. I've been a big fan of Bush up to now. You have to know that unpredictable things can happen in war and that even the slightest mistake in the war will be jumped on by the dems and their media. While I'm venting more than being really serious about turning from Bush, his already low poll numbers could result in a primary contest. I'd go for any good conservative that can win over a Bush who would lose to a fraud like Kerry.

That twit was sitting across from me at a Chicago resturant a few months back. If you think his hair looks stupid on television you should see him close up. The guy is a walking Kennedy wannabe. And it doesn't get any dumber than that.

Name a conservative who would be a better candidate. You can't.

Poll numbers are higher than Reagan's were, so where are you getting this "low poll numbers" routine.

You are stirring people up to no good purpose, in my opinion.

Well that's your option and opinion ... And I think many are slowly turning your way. People as a whole don't have the patience to play chess. We live in the age of instant gratification and life at the speed of video games.

I get frustrated at his pace at times but then I know I'm not privy to the intel he has or the long range goals that are being pursued. It does seem that it's taken a long time to put the assets in place to do this job. But hell what do I know.

All things have their season whether we as humans agree or not. And in time the seasons will come and go.

The only reason his poll numbers are down is because Bin Laden hasn't been captured yet, and we haven't gone into Iraq yet.

There will be no primary contest in 2004 (are you friggin' serious?).

Bush will beat Kerry or Lieberman easily in '04.

The world isn't going to end just because you are impatient. The liberals are on the run, the U.N. is about to become irrelevant, the Iraqi people are about to be liberated... Life is good.

And I resent the statement you made about Powell being less competant than Albright. If you truly believe this, than I really don't give a damn what you think. Go ahead and be a pain in the ass with no patience.

I'd agree that compared to the dems, Bush looked real good. Note the past tense. The last two months, he has not looked solid at all and an unnamed dem beats Bush for president in the polls. Scoff if you like ... but we are in serious trouble and only a practically flawless war and big economy rebound may rescue Bush.

BJR is not alone. My patience is wearing see-through thin too. We could have had this thing settled *last year* if the will to just do it had been there. I don't want to hear any more speeches, and I never saw any good reason to even talk to the U.N. at all.

It's time to defecate or get off the pot. I want to get on with the war. And I don't want any half-measures either. I want this thing settled *for good*. I want to put the fear of Allah in all the "holy warriors" and whirling dervishes and yodelling wahoobies so bad that *none* of 'em or their friends will *ever* even *think* about messing with us anymore.

Time is not on our side. Every day we drag our feet gives Saddam more time to dig in deeper, plant booby traps, organize resistance, and develop/deploy his biological and chemical weapons. Every day we delay is going to cost American lives.

The sooner we get started the sooner it'll be over. And then maybe there'll be *some* chance of getting some of these B.S. anti-constitutional laws repealed, and of getting some of our liberty and privacy back.

It is way past time to stop talking and start shooting.
