Still don't know why Bob Dole agreed to go on 60 Minutes with Clinton -- do you?

No and I'm likely not to even watch the show. Don't think my stomach, nervous system or mental health can take the double whammy of SlickWilly and CBS.

However I will read here and see what other FReepers think before deciding if I take my shoes off and jump into this one. Too many piles of troll poop to avoid in the media these days as it is.

I'm sorry, but between this, the viagra ads and the Pepsi commericial where he's ogling Britney Spears, Bob Dole has official become a media whore.

Next, he'll be the center square on Hollywood Squares.

Great post......Hopefully CNN/PBS/NBC/CBS/PMSNBC/NPR/ABC/NYT/WASHPOST/ etc will report the facts too - but on the other hand I think naaaa....facts are stubborn things for liberals.

I like Bob Dole but he should have never agreed to this. He is the man who lost to Clinton, not the face of the current Republican party. Clinton, on the other hand, is the man who can't let go and continues to be the face of his party. Dole, unless he surprises me, is no match for Clinton.

Maybe he is like Bubba: he'll do anything to keep his face and name in everyone's minds.

The only good thing the government can do for the economy is to stay out of it. Clintoon owes the prosperity in the 90's to one, and one thing only: the inexpensive PC. He had the unbelievable good luck to ooze into the White House at the time a technological revolution was happening. A whole new sector of the economy was built while he was staining the capital. I could take about as much credit for the boom of the 90's as Billy Jeff can.

Heck ol' Bob ought to be up to it for about 45 seconds anyway.... then his viagra may let him down...... This was only a 10 week deal wasn't it? I doubt it'll be that big of an impact one way or the other... I suspect more bragging rights for CBS was their motive.... Money, exposure, face time and ego would be the motives for the other two imo.

I wish I knew why CBS ever entertained the idea of having the impeached ex-president of the United States of America,
a man who arranged anti-American protests in Europe in 1968 while dodging the draft because he thought that he was just too good to serve in his country's military and proudly stated that he "loathed the military",
a man who is a perjurer and held in contempt of court,
a man who lost his law license and is barred from addressing the Supreme Court,
and a man who has a proven track record of despicable morals and has been accused of rape by Juanita Broderick,
as well as soliciting sex from Paula Jones,
and how can we forget how he enjoyed entertaining himself in the oval office with sink, cigar, and thonged intern.

After reading what I wrote, now I do wonder why an honorable man, Bob Dole would ever wish to sit next to that reprobate.

Nope. And I STILL wish Cheney had decided to run in '96. It would have been easier for me to vote for him than voting for Dole (which I did, of course) . . .

"Still don't know why Bob Dole agreed to go on 60 Minutes with Clinton -- do you?"

Nope.
But I'll venture a guess.
Dole's abysmal showing in the '96 election & his decision to do something as stupid as appearing with that thing.

...are related.

Maybe because he's not doing much else and maybe he thinks he can debate Clinton ---I won't watch Clinton on television, I always turned the television off when he was on while president so why watch the idiot now?

Viagra (or maybe Pepsi) clearly clouds one's thinking.

I truly doubt Bob Dole is smart enough to figure this out on his own, but having Bill Clinton in the public eye is great for us. Every time he opens his big mouth it reminds people of the contrast between him and President Bush, and why we elected Bush in the first place. I hope the media continue to make Clinton the poster boy for the Democrats all the way throuhg the next election.
