S America 'funding terrorists'
The Associated Press ^ | March 10, 2003`

Posted on 03/09/2003 6:56:57 PM PST by Indy Pendance

RADICAL Islamic groups in the Middle East are getting between $US300 million and $US500 million ($A490 million and $A816 million) a year from various criminal networks in Latin America, a top US military commander said.

General James T Hill, commander of the US Southern Command in Miami, said much of this money comes from drug trafficking, arms dealing and other illegal activities. Southern Command oversees US military relations in Latin America.

Hill said the funds are sent abroad from several Latin American areas with large Middle Eastern populations, such as the "triple frontier" between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, and Margarita island off the coast of Venezuela.

"The fastest-growing religion in Latin America today is Islam," Hill told The Miami Herald for its Sunday editions. "We think that there are between 3 and 6 million people of Middle Eastern descent in Latin America. There are radical Islamic groups associated with that population that are using it to create lots of money for their organisations."

He said about $US300 million to $US500 million a year goes from Latin America to groups such as Hamas, Hizbollah and Al Gamaat.

Hill called for "increased coordination" among armed forces to fight narco-terrorism, conduct disaster relief operations and help stop the flow of money to international terrorist groups.

Emilio Viano, a terrorism expert at American University in Washington, said he was not surprised by Hill's assertions on funding for terrorist groups.

But he added that in some cases, increased international scrutiny after the September 11 terrorist attacks has made it harder for terrorist groups to launder money there.

Some experts, however, were skeptical about the new estimates of Islamic groups' fundraising in Latin America.

Eduardo Gamarra, director of Florida International University's Latin American and Caribbean Centre, called the estimates "absolutely ridiculous".

"A lot of figures have been bouncing around, but in the last year I've been looking at these particular issues, and most of what I found was speculation," he said.

Remember the picture found after 9/11 that the high-jackers had taken at a famous waterfall in S. America? I was wondering when this would bubble to the surface.

You mean those "if you buy drugs, you fund terrorists" commercials were true? Who'd a thunk it?

Let me repeat: There is lots and lots of Muslim-backed and financed corruption - drugs, armaments etc - going on in Latin America. This is from eyewitness sources.

Like the many headed hydra - Islamic Jihad has spread everywhere but cutting off its main head/s will do wonders at killing off its viperous body.

South America is who I would look at besides the others. I had great threads with links during the spy plane problem but I never book marked them.

Legalizing marijuana would stop the flow of money to foreign drug lords, cutting the funding of terrorism. Taxing the legal grass would add to the treasury. What we will do is double the amount of taxes going down the toilet for the WOD, have no effect on trafficking, and maintain the terrorist balance sheet. We do whatever it takes, except where drugwarrior/lifestylepolice is concerned.

<< Let me repeat: There is lots and lots of Muslim-backed and financed corruption - drugs, armaments etc - going on in Latin America. This is from eyewitness sources. >>

So is this. FRom me: Terrorism is an envy-motivated and hatred and rage-driven manifestation of Evil. It is always hesperophbic and is an essentially criminal trans-national business -- and EVERY terrorist is related in some way to EVERY other.

Although they casually swap roles with one another, traditionally the hatred-consumed predatory pack of endemically-alcoholic, cravenly-cowardly, mass-murdering bank robbing and drug and gun running Marxist-Hitlerist fascists that so grandiosely self-styles itself the "i r a" is the main connecting and "liason" machination among all of the world's terrorists.

Fortunately for the world, however -- and particularly for the United States of America, the true nature of the ira/sinn fein mob -- and of such of its gangsters and murderers as Gerry Adams and Pat Doherty -- is becoming more exposed and widly known since Our Beloved FRaternal Republic's Administrative Branch of Government has been recovered FRom its previous terrorist sympathizer usurpers: -- the essentially also-envy-motivated and hatred and rage-driven -- and effectively pro-terrorist -- anti Americans that comprised and that accompanied and/or were aided and abbetted and/or otherwise facilitated by the criminal gangs that owned, operated controlled and comprised the KKKli'toon and KKKarhtah "administrations." And that counted among its such insidious workers of anti-American Evil as the former Lyndon Baynes Johnson gang member: -- the American-Taxpayer and PBS-sponsered and facilitated un-and-anti America terrorist shill: Bill Moyers.

The ira's turn, like Usama's and North Korea's and Syria's, will arrive.

Oh that the traitor KKKli'tons' and KKKahtah's and Bill Moyers' turn comes to -- and Justice was seen to be delivered as efficatiously to all of them -- as it will shortly be to Soddom Hisson!

You speaking from experience? Because, within the past 10 years, I am personally aware of rural Americans forming buying clubs and dealing directly with very high profile brokers in Santa Marta, Columbia. These folks were dealing the Peace and Justice coffee, as well. Made just another of their many legit covers.

The organizers of this little venture include one in Federal custody and another sad soul who lives on the run under 3 Federal felonies. At one point he supplied up to half the dealers operating around one of the Midwest's largest universities.

There is truth in those commercials and not just about cocaine. And not one of these self-styled revolutionaries would have given a d^**n had they know they were funding Islamic terrorists. The money still spends.

Legalization might help take the excess profits out of this, but remember: they are illegal in the countries of origin and not just because of the big bad old DEA. A good percentage of the cost is for the bribes paid in the country where they are grown/processed. Thee are also cases recently of US grown pot grown by Mexican drug lords in the National Parks. Domestic isn't necessarily guilt-free.

The biggest money behind the drug legalization in the US comes from George Soros, who is also a proponent and active player in the cause of global socialism.

The campus alternative types usually tell me that they don't care who is funding and organizing their demonstrations "as long as we share the same goal." Do the libertarian, anti-WOD types think the same way?
