The United Nations charter specifically states the that the Secretary General cannot be from a nation that is a permanent member of the Security Council.

So Bill moves to Spain or Italy, renounces his US citizenship, and applies

If you check out the fine print on the UN Charter you should see that no citizen of a permanent member of the Security Council can be a Secretary General. The US would either have to pull out of the UN or clintoon would have to renounce his US citizenship.

You happen to have a specific citation to that "fine print" in the U.N. Charter? 'cause I've never been able to find it, and I've looked.

France would love Clinton as Sec-Gen. He's not really an American anyway, he's a one-worlder going way back, and he hates what this country really stands for at least as much as the Frogs.

The United Nations charter specifically states the that the Secretary General cannot be from a nation that is a permanent member of the Security Council.

So the rest of the UN kicks us out of permanent status for the "crime" of invading Iraq (especially for winning and establishing democratic rule). Or we quit the UN out of pique for any number of potential reasons.

In either case, problem solved. Clinton's in, and we can't even veto.

Don't think it can't happen.

There won't be a problem with it. Just hold up the Constitution.

Or better yet, let's get Mr. DeLay to introduce legislation putting a lid on these sleazy ex-Presidents. Hello?? Can somebody with power please do their jobs for once??

That would be a great boost for the UN. It's already irrelevent and with the addition of bent willie, the lying, cheating and perverted klinton, they will really be toast and also the laughing stock of the real world.

Therefore it sounds like a great idea to me.

Trouble is, so may congresscritters from both parties that this guy that the U.S.' continued funding of the UN beast would be seriously imperiled. This might be enough to convince member countries to vote against him (needless to say , most of them wouldn't vote against him on ethical grounds, due to their ethics being so similar to his).

US should exercise her VETO power on this one !!!

According to the UN Charter, no citizen of one of the permanent members of the Security Council can hold the position of Secretary General of the UN.

Will he still have US Secret Service protection while he attempts to destroy the world?

Oh, not to worry. I'm sure the U.S. will be kicked off the security council shortly after we forge ahead on Iraq, eliminating that pesky little obstacle -- and Iraq will be chairing the disarmament committee. What a circus!

Your joking but Clinton at the head of the UN would galvanize domestic Democrat base and remember, as the head of the UN he gets the power of a Robert Byrd cubed! Imagine this, want to get out the Native El Salvador vote in the USA, approve El Salvador land reclamation project. In a heartbeat you would see the American balance of power change.

Clinton as Sec Gen would be able to turn the world against the sitting American President in a heartbeat. As an American, his anti administration positions become infinitely more politically powerful. It's a very very scary thought.

Why does this keep coming up?

Because traitorrapist42 continues to campaign for the anti-American vote.

Because it enhances Das Butch von Buchenvald's march into Washington.

Reality check: Unless Butch is successful in its coup next year, the U.S. delegate will veto this in a Trade Center minute.

Trust the Rosenbergs to keep at it 666 days a year.

No, the US can veto that too. Plus the electrical power to the UN building could be cut.

Can you please cite the provision of the UN Charter that says that? I looked for it a couple of weeks ago, and was not able to find it.
