If you cave to liberal pressure groups and selectively censor conservative programming, you will be boycotted by Republicans nationwide, and this will pale in any comparison to a boycott by gays&lesbians.

I got news for you.

I'm a Republican, and I think Savage is a nut case. His egomaniacal rantings get old quickly. And I'd wager there are lots of Republicans who feel the same way.

If I were Michael Dell, I would never have agreed to advertise on this fruitcake's show in the first place.

Savage is not a conservative; he's a populist with some fascist leanings. Why he's as popular as he is is beyond me.

But, then, I don't get Howard Stern either.

I agree with you.

But more to the point, where are conservative advertisers who should be flocking to Savage's show? Who needs P&G or Sharper Image or Dell? Where are the hair restoration products, libido products, business opportunity promoters that populate so many conservative shows to support this guy?

As an example, the ACLU takes on a number of unpopular causes to defend a higher principle. Frankly, whether you care for Savage or not is immaterial. I don't listen to him and I agree he is loud and egomaniacal. The newsmedia is predominantly liberal and this is the second time that a rare entry of a conservative program has been sabotaged by a liberal pressure group. I am more of an economic conservative than I am a social conservative, but social conservatism deserves a voice. And frankly this tactic by the Left of labeling dissenting opinions as "hate-speech" as a means of excommunicating a whole group of people from civil society goes against the grain of free speech. It is the responsibility of conservatives to explain to advertisers that social conservatism is not equatable with "hatred". Insofar as companies are concerned with their bottom line, it is important for them to understand that there are greater consequences to offending the tens of millions of conservatives in this country than GLAAD.
