I would invite you to read The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln.. Publishd by Arrow.

I haven't been able to find a copy here in the US but I got a copy at the airport bookstore in Amsterdam.

It is interesting reading, but it could shake your Christian faith a tad...

OBTW it is graal which is ancient Frankish for "blood". People continually astound me with "grail"...Just another point of view.

You mean this book? "The authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail assert that their explorations into early history ultimately reveal that Jesus may not have died on the cross, but lived to marry and father children whose bloodline continues today"-Amazon.com

Eh, there were a bunch of documentaries on Holy Blood/Holy Grail on TLC or Discovery or the History Channel or whatever 5-6 years ago.

It's initially sorta interesting but seems to rapidly spin out of control into kookland.

If you want to read an interesting novel with some literary merit, and learn some things, and have ever been interested in the whole Templar/Rosicrucian/Jewish Kabbala etc. etc. try Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum". It starts off slow and is long, but is well worth it. Has an interesting "twist." Interesting commentary on foil-hat conspiracyism in general.

Man, wish I could see that. Don't get cable, though...

I LOVED Holy Blood, Holy Grail, even though a lot of it (and the authors admitted as much) was pure speculation. Among other things, it got me very much interested in the Knights Templar and the more esoteric aspects of Christian spirituality.

Another good one by the same authors is The Temple and the Lodge. This, along with John Robinson's Born in Blood, makes an excellent case for the Freemasons being the descendants of the Knights Templar. I became a Mason largely on the premise that the Craft was preserving the old chivalric values in modern times; so far, I haven't been disappointed.

Yes, and they will defend it with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!

FYI, this is what passes for Art Bell nowadays. Or nights, I should say. George Noory is the replacement for Bell. Noory's not my cup of tea.

He reminds me of a cross between Phil Donahue/Larry King/Sean David Morton. IMO, FWIW.

Just had it on as I type and he just took a call from a gullible type complaining about those "Bonsai Cats".

Kudos for Clear Channel/Premier Radio for finding yet another poor replacement for Bell.
Lord help them if they have to replace Limbaugh or Drudge.
(At least Art was entertaining 90% of the time dealing with kooks and frauds.)

If you enjoyed Baigent and Leigh, you will also like Gardner's books.

There is a kooky webzine called Nexus Magazine where Gardner has published synopsis' of his books.

Those are great reads.
Have you read Trevor Ravenscroft "The Spear of Destiny"? There's quite a bit of supposition on his part, but it's quite an interesting read for history buffs and the conspiracy minded . (The spear of destiny is interchangeable with the spear of the Holy Grail.)

The book carries the subtitle: The Occult power behind the spear which pierced the side of Christ....and how Hitler inverted the Force in a bid to conquer the world.

Read the first half of so and ignore the rest. Then it's a quite interesting book. The closing part, the conclusion is so absurd that you walk away shaking your head. Almost reads like the first and last parts were written by different people with different agendas. The first part is history. The last part is science fiction.

... for insomnia.

I can't stand his pimping for that newsletter. I have to turn off the radio. They should splurge and have a real radio
person try to pitch it, if at all.

That, and he has been so pc the last few times I tried to listen, I never made it to the guest.

In the attic, I found a statue of a black bird. It's very heavy and seems to have been covered with thick enamel paint. I wonder if I should call in.
