I thought there may be some cross promotion from the radion station conglomerates that the band could lean on with their crumbling support.

We should borrow the military's jamming equipment - to get their concert PA speakers inexplicably broadcasting police, fire, military and Air Traffic Control message traffic.
To: ewing
Er, NO information or confirmation of this.
Given that their concerts were almost instant sell-outs, I find it hard to believe a promoter is going to give up that amount of cash, unless the low ticket prices made the event unprofitable in some way.
Anyone else got confirmation of this?

LOL!
I'm an expatriate Okie temporarily located in West Los Angeles.
One liberal collegue was crowing to me that one of his friends is "from Texas
and doesn't like Dubya!".
I said, "Your friend is either from the Austin metro area or along the Rio Grande."
It was fun to see him sheepishly say..."...golly, your right...she's from Austin..."

I visited their webpage (earlier link from Rebelbase) and read some of the comments about FRprs. There was ever a comment from a 20yr ex-Vietnam veteran that supported them. This is amazing. It's as though there is no difference (in some people's warped minds) between saying you're simply against the war and saying "we're sorry that GW is from Texas". Chriminy! These bozos have nothing to say about Saddam but let's rip into the President.
Now I have to sit down with my 16yr. old daughter and explain why she should throw out her DC CDs and will never go to one of their concerts.

And the promotoer who canceled would be liable for a lawsuit for damages....Michal Jackson just lost the suit, when he backed out of a concert.....the promoter would bear the same risk..

Here's this take from www.moretv32.com in florida:
Career Move Of The Week
In a London concert early this week, Natalie Maines, of the monstrously popular Dixie Chicks, said, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."
The comment drew a hugely positive response from the British crowd, who were apparently part of a growing mob who are ready to go after Tony Blair with pitchforks and torches.
Things are a bit different back across the pond, however. The three biggest country music stations in Kansas City pulled all Chicks tunes, and one even invited listeners to dump their Chicks CDs into a garbage can.
Things should get even more interesting next month, when the three Texas girls are scheduled to play to a sold-out house in Kansas City. I wouldn't want to be a scalper trying to get top dollar for those choice front-row seats, unless they come with a complimentary bucket of rotten fruit.

I wonder how the San Diego concert(lots of conservative servicemen and women in that town) venue will fare?
The local Country Western radio station is fielding calls about boycotting playing DC songs until a REAL apology come out of Main's big fat mouth. You know, if she had just kept it shut and sang her songs, a lot of her fans wouldn't have gotten this angry.
No more Dixie Chicks for me. I tossed my Blixie Chicks CD's in the trash the other day. Then I took them out to be used as skeet targets. I'm exercising my right as an American to disagree with them by ignoring the box office and refusing listening to their music on the radio or my CD player. I hope the cash register doesn't ring as heartily for them anymore. Serves them right.

Even though most of what you hear on country radio these days is pretty bland, I have found my local country music station (99.5 - WKLB, Boston) to be a sanctuary from the leftist crap that is spewed on most other FM stations. I have attended many country music concerts over the years and the audience is overwhelmingly conservative. At a Brooks & Dunn concert a couple of years ago (and this was BEFORE 9/11), the crowd literally exploded when the song "Only in America" was played. At a Alan Jackson concert last summer, WKLB issued an American flag to everybody at the gates. Everytime there was a patriotic song done (we even had a state trooper sing Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" before the concert), everybody in the audience was waving the flag. It was quite something to see.
These Dixie Chicks made a huge mistake. I know that I will never buy another CD from them and I'm never listening to the one I have - I'll probably just trash it. I would say that the Dixie Chicks just lost 80% of their core audience. Easily.

Shhhhhh..... Don't spoil the little freeper party.
I think its funny that when Jesse Jackson or NOW pulls boycotts and publicity stunts, its called "a shakedown" or "extortion". Then freepers turn around and do the same thing. Interesting, the mentality.
