At least I and hopefully you too...are locked and loaded and ready to take out any self-appointed ministers of Jihad over in the US if they get any ideas. Keep them with you. They don't do any good locked up at home.

You bet. My wife and I have our CCW permits. We carry as necessary. The crime rate is VERY low in our area. I really don't expect to ever have to draw. We go to the range on a regular basis for entertainment. It's our hobby...and we're avid hobbyists.

Well, he's no Patton.

General George S. Patton, Jr., in characteristic unexpurgated detail, gives his troops a final pep-talk prior to the invasion of Normandy, Enniskillen Manor Grounds, England, May 17, 1944.

We want to get this thing over and get the hell out of here, and get at those purple-pissin' Japs!!! The shortest road home is through Berlin and Tokyo! We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by showing the enemy we have more guts than they have or ever will have! There's one great thing you men can say when it's all over and you're home once more. You can thank God that twenty years from now, when you're sitting around the fireside with your grandson on your knee and he asks you what you did in the war, you won't have to shift him to the other knee, cough, and say, "I shoveled shit in Louisiana."

I wish I could have been a soldier or a pilot. God knew the choices I'd make and the mistakes I'd choose. As I grow older I look back having married a wonderful lady who put in 27 years service as an Army nurse. She started as a PFC in the 70's having advanced to Cpt. in the 90's, during the process she received her college degree in nursing and graduated summa cum laude from Western Carolina University. She had just received her papers for early board for Major when she was injured and placed on disabilty and discharged. I've always admired my wife and just wish I could have accomplished half she did.

I have been around other service men and woman and witnessed the fiber that made up there core. Were so blessed to have such a wonderful country and the freedoms we do. It's time to defend liberty and our Nation's peoples against what surely would come our way. God Bless America and God Bless our men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces!

Expect Sodomy to lob scuds at Israel and bio/chem warheads at our boys stuck waiting on the French to set them all up, at the same time.

Given his track record and his current hopeless position, why would he do anything else?

Let the blood lie at the feet of the socialists of the world, including past presidents and their cohorts of tyranny.

To America I say learn thee thy lesson in your follies at the ballot box.

Viva la Pre-Emption!

People let's not forget to pray for everyone of our brave servicemen and women over there.

They are putting their lives on the line in the pursuit of freedom from tyranny.

"If it happens, we'll sound the alarm and dive into the bunkers. And when we come out, we'll smite this guy with a fury he has never seen before."

And Lord have mercy on whoever is on their receiving end; 'cause they won't...

"After 9/11 I volunteered to every branch, even the reserves. The recruiters all loved my spunk but every one gave me the same answer: "At 45, you're too old to enlist."

They told me the same thing and I was 53 at the time.
That didn't stop me.
I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary and am a Coast Guard trained radio watchstander
AND work in the Operations Office on the Coast Guard base every Thur.
I also go out on Coast Guard boats with regular Coast Guard who are 1/2 my age.
Check my profile page for pics and further details.

My problem is that I lost the major veins in my legs. The blood goes down, but it doesn't come back like it used to. As long as I'm on level ground to a few degrees decline, I'm great. If I hit an incline of only a few degrees I can really feal it. And if it gets to be 5 to 10% plus, I can't walk more than a few blocks without resting. Truly pathetic, but then that's the breaks.

Sounds like a great present. Good job.

"Live in peace with America and her allies...or die."

It's time we taught the Sand Goblins about The Grave of the Hundred Head. It is a most excellent and salubrious principle. Overly kind to the Sand Goblins but sufficiently instructive even for their primitive minds.

You left out the important part. Here it is:

"We want to get the hell over there. The quicker we clean up this Goddamned mess, the quicker we can take a little jaunt against the purple-pissing Japs and clean out their nest, too — before the Goddamned Marines get all of the credit."

In the Marine Corps we call that praise from high places.

There is an excellent little movie about these current events. It is called 'Deterrence'. I highly recommend it.

"If we take a number of casualties and the French open their yaps, Bush can feel free to call me up. I may not be a spring chicken, but I can hit a chicken at several hundred yards."

I'm right behind you, except I am possibly the worst shot in the world. It would be better to send me to France, where the very presence of a revolver would be enough to make them wet their pants and surrender to me in droves.

Thanks for serving in Viet Nam and post-9/11. We all appreciate both equally.
