Passenger: Note left in suitcase
WASHINGTON — An airline passenger has complained to U.S. authorities that a government baggage screener at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport left a note in his suitcase criticizing his lack of patriotism after finding a "No Iraq War" sign inside his bag.
Seth Goldberg, 41, of New Jersey, said yesterday he believes a screener with the Transportation Security Administration slipped a note into his suitcase before a March 2 flight to San Diego.
"Don't appreciate your anti-American attitude!" was neatly handwritten on the standard notice the transportation-security agency places inside all the bags that screeners open.
Goldberg said he thought the note was an abuse of government authority and a violation of his privacy and free-speech rights.
Agency spokeswoman Heather Rosenker said the agency will investigate

This sort of thing is funny the first time, but mildly tyrannical if it keeps happening.

It could have been a baggage handler.

I disagree with Goldberg's view of the war, but these TSA people are on thin ice with flyers anyway.
I'd raise some kind of hell if one of these shoe-size IQ'd greaseballs put a "note" in my stuff.

I wonder if the wussy-boy would have been as offended
if the note said something like:
"I Really do like those ruffly pink panties you have in here."

Sounds like a baggage handler who's paying attention to his work. Wish there were more like him.

The screener should have just added a "w" to the "No Iraq War" sign. That way handwriting couldn't be traced, hah!

The number of people on this thread who support or are indifferent to the presumed tsa person's actions is scary. Today it is the employee's disagreement with an anti-war sign, tomorrow it could be disagreement with one of these same forum members anti-abortion or pro-gun signs and the freeper would likely not be as supportive of the TSA employee. I wonder if some of them would then understand why this needs to be nipped in the bud.
We are going to be stuck with TSA for the rest of our lives, presumably in ever-more intrusive form, and need to do all we can to put them under notice that there are rules to be taken seriously and that THEY will be punished for failure to follow them. I never liked dealing with the previous airport security in MIA, FLL, etc, mainly consisting of people who declined to speak english, were often impolite, etc, but that was nothing compared to the blind hydra that replaced it. A signifigant function of TSA is to give the government political cover the next time something happens to a plane, IMHO, while allowing saudis to continue flying in the US without impediment.
When a CITIZEN cannot say they oppose going to war with a country that has not demonstrably attacked us without being anonymously harrassed by government employees while said employees search his property, something is dreadfully wrong.

Wish there were more like him. Sieg Heil! Where would we be if government workers couldn't go through our stuff and comment on our politics.

Couldn't have been done at the hand carry-on screening area, because that's all done right in front of you. It had to have been done in baggage handling area by a patriotic baggage handler thief looking for stuff to steal.
