- there's no public outcry to have them replace Bill Handel, John & Ken or Rush on weekdays.

I miss KFI. Started listening to it in 1991 when I first heard Rush. John and Ken started their show when I was in law school. Funny thing, I never thought of them as RIGHT WING. But they do call a spade a spade. I remember them going after the congressman to "inquire" about his missing intern.

Bill Handel is STILL the best KFI has to offer, though. He went from a call in legal show where he tells the caller he/she has no case, to doing the morning show for three hours. You'd think he'd be too busy in his practice with Reproductive Law. (guess I missed that class)

Back in the early '60s, KGO in SF had a phone-in show hosted by Ira Blue.

Now there was a liberal talk-show host!

They will have to overcome Hannity and RUSH first!

Thousands of TalkRadio 790 KABC listeners attended Sean Hannity's remote broadcast at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Thursday, March 6th, 2003.  His fans showed tremendous support for him and for America!

Point taken by both myself and the left.

That's why the new tact. Reduce the corporate climate and enhance the possibilty of business not based on profit.

Reduce the corporate profit mentality and enhance the exposure of unpopular idealogues.

WE AREN'T BUYING, AND THIS WON'T WORK

Exactly!

But if you don't have to buy it will work.

Hence the new tactic (not mentioned in this article) to attack the corporate influence in talk radio.

One thing few dispute is that Republicans benefit from easy access to the base of their party.

State Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Simi Valley, campaigns against government waste during his weekly appearance on the Sacramento-based "Eric Hogue Show."

"Clueless" Ed Fletcher appears to be totally oblivious to the fact that he has stumbled onto the real reason leftists will fail on the radio. By analogy, if Democrats have "easy access to the base of their party," they'll campaign for government waste.

Liberal talk radio doesn't work because the people calling it are too likely to be angry about what other people are doing with their own time and their own money - in other words, it has about as much national appeal as paleocon talk radio, where angry people call in to gripe about what other people do with their own time and their own money. None of it is entertaining.

This whole radio thing is nothing more than sour grapes.

The dems are mad because they abandoned radio for TV - and it has come back to bite them!!

God knows there are plenty of them around. Why is it that it's never made any kind of splash?

Because they're generally humorless, condescending, and boring. They go around in a perpetual teeth-clench and it comes through when they talk. Nobody wants to listen to a sorehead for more than about ten minutes.
