Left Wing American Radicals Call for Boycott of US Goods on Websites

March 16, 2003

In what must rank as one of the most treasonous acts committed against this great land, a perverted radical poster on a delusional web-site familiar to many here has called for a boycott of US goods. Expressing frustration that the peace marches have failed to stop the inevitable march towards military action in Iraq, this pathetic excuse of a human being was responding to a question asking what else the anti-American crowd could do.

While such blatantly anti-American rhetoric is the norm on such websites, this call for a boycott surpassed other examples of hate-America rhetoric, and actually found sympathetic supporters. In recent weeks, such websites have become increasingly hateful towards the very country that gives them the freedom to say such things, hostile towards the very military that protects their freedom, and suicidal in their wish for the enemies of America to triumph.

So perverted has their thinking become, that one person actually referred to President George Bush as the butcher of Baghdad. With citizens like these among us, why do our enemies need terror cells?

I intentionally did not provide a link. I do not want to give them any more than the audience they already have.

This is not gonna play well with the Union guys. Didn't I just hear a moronic Union official spout his garbage at yesterday's "peace rally?"

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Why don't they boycott American agricultural products while they're at it? Those evil agri-conglomerates are exploiting the people. Jeesh, what an obvious bunch of commie dopes...

Hey, now we have our greatest opportunity to be rid of these folks. Encourage them to purchase foreign made medicines for one thing.

Left-wing?

The title should be "communists" and "socialists" arguing for anarchy.

From the "socialist-alliance" website:

Stop work to stop the war!
Union action urgently needed

There are four reasons why industrial action is crucial to stopping the war on Iraq, a war which will most of all kill and maim the ordinary working people of that country.
• Because in taking industrial action the trade unions would be acting for the vast majority of Australians who are opposed to this criminal war.
• Because it's the only language John Howard understands. He has refused to hold a referendum on the war-he knows the overwhelming majority would vote against it.
• Because industrial action is one of the most important ways to make the cost of war unacceptably high to the Howard government.
• Because we would be strengthening industrial campaigns against the war that have already been begun by workers in other countries (see here for details).

This is one of the dumbest ideas that the left has ever floated. I hope that they get this message out far and wide. The blowback will be fierce.

We should help them: specfically, we should make sure that all American unions have this information; that all newspapers in US manufacturing towns and cities get this information, and that all workers get this infomrmation.

Heck, I'd even get dressed up in my Birkenstocks (actually I'd have to go out and buy a pair) and Calvins, make myself an anti-american poster, and hand out "Boycott USA" leaflets at the factory gates, just to help them get their message out.

On the other hand maybe not... As I said the blowback will be fierce. I don't want to get in the way.

They can "call" for whatever they want.

It's one thing to "call" for a bunch of smelly hippies to converge on a downtown business district somewhere, and cause a ruckus.

It's another to try to instigate a boycott.

only about one in five Americans believes we should not whack Saddam. And of those, I venture to guess only a small percentage will be incensed enough to follow through with something like a boycott.

In the end, they just don't have the numbers.

Leftist radicals don't have any money to buy things. That's WHY they are leftist radicals. Sheesh.

FYI: if I remember correctly, "Howard" is the prime minister of Australia. Hence, these people are Aussies who want to boycott American goods.
