Rachel Corrie, 23, was killed on 16 March when she was run over by an Israeli bulldozer. Rachel was trying to stop the bulldozer from demolishing the home of a Palestinian doctor in the Gaza Strip. Our hearts go out to her family and friends

At about 5.20 pm today Rachel Corrie from Olympia in Washington State, USA died of her injuries in A-Najar Hospital in Rafah after being deliberately run over by an Israeli military bulldozer.
Rachel had been working as an ISM activist in Rafah for seven weeks when she was killed trying to prevent the demolition of Palestinian homes and property in the Hi Salaam area of Rafah.
The confrontation between the ISM and the Israeli Army had been under way for two hours when Rachel was run over. Rachel and the other activists had clearly identified themselves as unarmed international peace activists throughout the confrontation.
The Israeli Army are attempting to dishonour her memory by claiming that Rachel was killed accidentally when she ran in front of the bulldozer. Eye-witnesses to the murder insist that this is totally untrue. Rachel was sitting in the path of the bulldozer as it advanced towards her. When the bulldozer refused to stop or turn aside she climbed up onto the mound of dirt and rubble being gathered in front of it wearing a fluorescent jacket to look directly at the driver who kept on advancing. The bulldozer continued to advance so that she was pulled under the pile of dirt and rubble. After she had disappeared from view the driver kept advancing until the bulldozer was completely on top of her. The driver did not lift the bulldozer blade and so she was crushed beneath it. Then the driver backed off and the seven other ISM activists taking part in the action rushed to dig out her body. An ambulance rushed her to A-Najar hospital where she died.
Rachel joins 1,900 Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers since September 2000
Actually the photo(s) show nothing of the sort.
Look carefully at the fist & second pictures. They are of different bulldozers. Light placement on top of cab is different, exhaust placement is different, far background is different.
In fact there is only a minor diference in the stories told by the IDF & the protestors. Concentrate on the parts of the story where IDF says she "ran in front of the bulldozer" protestors say "she climbed up onto the mound of dirt and rubble being gathered in front of it".
Anyone think she climbed the gathered mound of rubble at a leisurely stroll?
For my money, she looked at the bulldozer & it seemd to be moving slowly, so she ran up the pile of rubble. Only then did she realize that it was moving faster than she thought and that the pile of rubble consisted of heavy chunks which were moving under her feet.
Darwin Award.
The thing about this forum is that all types of replies get pulled for a myriad of reasons......
unfortunately for you, a lame reply is usually left to stand in perpetuity.
Good call.
I went to the link for this group, I was disgusted and had to get out of it. Entering the gates of twisted logic was revolting. Immediately thought of the Bible teaching regarding those that turn their backs on Israel will perish.
Obviously, she went in front of the bulldozer of her own accord. If you mean did she deliberately let it hit her...I don't think so. I think she was a spoiled brat who was so wrapped up in her egomania she was incapable of conceiving that the bulldozer wouldn't stop, for any reason - an attitude reinforced by the Israelis' painstaking efforts to avoid collateral casualties. By the time she realized that the bulldozer wasn't going to stop, it was either too late, or she froze. Anyway, that's my 2 cents (minus all applicable taxes).
Absoloutely. You know, I can say with a goodly amout of conviction that I will never be run over by an Israli bulldozer. Why? Because I ain't gonna be standing in front of one, chief! Her parents should be hung up by their fingernails for not grabbing this girl by the head and doing WHATEVER IT TOOK to make her understand that She wasn't in some cozy college anymore, smoking ganja and latching on to "cause du jour". Some left-wing liberal professor probably gave her extra credit for going to Gaza to protest. Those idiots don't realize that Gaza is not Haight-Asbury, and those are soldiers, not policemen. That is not a game going on over there. How self absorbed do you have to be to think that a soldier participating in a conflict that has lasted for the last, oh, 2000 years or so will even flinch if you run out in front of him? To him, you are a casualty. You are the enemy. These idiots run around in a fantasy world and think that they can just spout their views with impunity. The sad thing is, the last thing to go through her mind (other than the tread of the Cat) was probably "hey, he can't do this. I'm an American" Fool. What Ms Corrie got was a lesson in "Caterpillar Reality"
On the bright side, looks like we have a clear cut leader for this year's Darwin Awards!
They send their own kids to be suicide bombers - so why should she be special to them!
ROFLMAO! I love that scene in the movie.
